Kitchen Supervisor

The KitchenSupervisor is responsible for overseeing the grilling and cookingoperations in the kitchen. This role involves preparing andgrilling a variety of menu items to perfection ensuring foodquality and adherence to recipe standards. The Kitchen Supervisorshould possess excellent cooking skills a strong attention todetail and the ability to work in a fastpaced environment whilemaintaining high food safety and sanitationstandards.
Responsibilities:
- Superviseand coordinate kitchen staff including assigning tasks providingguidance and monitoring performance to ensure efficient andproductiveoperations.
- Overseefood preparation and cooking processes ensuring adherence torecipes portion control and presentationstandards.
- Ensurethat food quality and taste consistently meet Tortilla Restaurantsstandards by regularly inspecting dishes and providing feedback tokitchenstaff.
- Monitorand maintain proper food safety and sanitation practices in thekitchen including storage handling and labeling ofingredients.
- Assistin menu planning recipe development and implementation of newdishes or cookingtechniques.
- Monitoring andmanaging food costs by closely tracking inventory levels portioncontrol and wastereduction.
- Collaboratingwith the kitchen staff to implement costeffective cookingtechniques and minimize foodwaste.
- Analyzingfood usage data and identifying trends to make informed purchasingdecisions and optimize inventorylevels.
- Workingclosely with vendors and suppliers to negotiate favorable pricingand maintain qualitystandards.
- Monitorstock levels and conduct regular stock control activities such asinventory counts andreconciliations.
- Workclosely with suppliers to ensure timely and accurate deliverieswhile maintainingcosteffectiveness.
- Setand communicate clear deadlines for kitchen staff to ensure timelyfood preparation anddelivery.
- Monitorkitchen operations during peak hours to ensure smooth workflowtimely service and minimal waiting times forcustomers.
- Trainand mentor kitchen staff in proper cooking techniques food safetypractices efficient work processes and cost controlmeasures.
- Conductregular kitchen inspections to identify and address any equipmentmaintenance or cleanlinessissues.
- Maintainopen and clear communication channels with the management teamreporting any operational stock or costrelated issuespromptly.
Requirements
- Provenexperience as a Kitchen Supervisor or in a similar kitchenmanagement role preferably in a highvolumerestaurant.
- Indepthknowledge of culinary techniques food safety practices kitchenoperations and cost controlmeasures.
- Strongleadership and supervisory skills with the ability to motivate andinspire ateam.
- Excellentorganizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks andmanage a fastpaced kitchenenvironment.
- Culinarytraining or certification is preferred but relevant experience willalso beconsidered.
- Knowledgeof inventory management stock control cost control and menuplanningprinciples.
- Abilityto work effectively under pressure meet deadlines and adapt tochangingpriorities.
- Strongcommunication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with staff atalllevels.
- Flexibilityto work evenings weekends and holidays asrequired.
