Roles and responsibilities

The Data Center FacilitiesBMS/DCIM Operator is responsible tosupervise and control the operation of the building managementsystem (BMS) & Data Centerinfrastructure Management (DCIM)System and monitor all Electrical, ELV, and fire/life safetyequipment, HVAC plant activities of the Data center buildingservices within the data center is operating at peak efficiency.Maintaining and monitoring the level of temperature inequipment's and trouble notifying against the DCIMalarms. The Operator serves as an expert technical resourcereporting and interacting with onsite Engineers and any third-partyvendors. Data center equipment that supports mission-criticalservers must maintain better than 99.999%uptime.

KeyResponsibilities:

  • Operates and maintains BuildingManagement System (BMS) for proper function and monitors the DCIMagainst approved benchmarks to include; HVAC, Lighting, FireSuppression, Generator, Plumbing, andElectrical
  • Carry out routine checks for correctoperation of all control equipment as directed by FacilityEngineer
  • Monitor the operation of the HVACcontrol systems using the BMS/DCIM to monitorperformance.
  • Adjust variables and provideadjustment as required to ensure systems are operating correctlywithin parameters
  • Monitor and record values ofHVAC systems to build up a database of records to provide data forenergy efficiency improvement.
  • Communicate allmaintenance and repair actions in writing for information tomanagement as required.
  • Should follow theProtocols if any unexpected technical difficulties and otherproblems that may arise at any time.
  • Monitorsand verifies operation of all BMS/DCIM fielddevices.
  • Adjusts BMS settings and parameters tomeet changing conditions, i.e., Load, Environmental, Customerneeds, etc.
  • Records maintenance data andgenerates reports as needed.
  • Maintains job carddocumentation for all Alarms or changes to systems and/orequipment.
  • Monitors of fire detection alarmsystem, such as smoke detector, heat detector, sprinkler, andemergency exit, in coordination with SafetyFunction.
  • Monitors of Water tank supply levelalarm, air handling unit, fresh air handlingunit.
  • Monitors and controls the Fire pumpsystem, motors, sewage pump, electrical system, water system in theData Center building.
  • Performs miscellaneoustasks as assigned by his FacilityEngineer
  • Daily checking healthiness of allfacilities equipment's and keeping daily logs and recordsof all maintenance functions.
  • Create the Jobcards in CAFM (FSI) Mobile App as per Site requirements and closethe Job cards which Engineerassigns.
  • Responding promptly and efficiently toemergencies calls.
  • Review and understandequipment and methods of operation, Electrical systems, ELV system,fire/life safety, and other systems.
  • Complywith all safety procedures andrequirements
  • Support any afterhours buildingneeds and activities as required
  • Attendtraining sessions and seminars.
  • Other assignedtasks as requested.
Desired candidate profile
  • Working knowledge of Electrical & ELVsystems including secondary distribution, HVAC System interiorsystems
  • Ability to read CAD Drawings,single-line diagrams, and rough shopdrawings
  • Possess strong knowledge in multipleskilled trades (electrical, HVAC, plumbing,etc)
  • Requires ability to analyze the operationof various infrastructure systems, determine the cause ofproblems/malfunctions, and take corrective actions asrequired
  • Trained and experienced in BMS/DCIMoperation.
  • Vigilant with attention fordetail.
  • Excellent computer operationskills.
  • Ability to deal with emergencysituations in a calm manner. Integrity, commitment andcourteous.
  • Following instructions &Procedures.

  • GoodEnglish Communication knowledge isrequired.
  • Good Working Knowledge of PC systems,and CAFM Mobile Apps

Qualifications:

  • 2-3 year BMS/DCIM Operator Experiencein Data Center Maintenance/Operations.
  • 5+ yearTotal Experience in BMS/DCIM.

OtherRequirements:

  • DC certifications will be an addedadvantage.
  • Experienced in MicrosoftApplications (Office, Excel, Word,Outlook)
