Roles and responsibilities

TeamManagement:

  • Oversee and lead the Roads &Highways and Structures teams, ensuring efficient operations andoptimal team performance.
  • Foster acollaborative and innovative working environment to deliverhigh-quality engineering solutions.

FinancialLeadership:

  • Assume full Profit & Loss(P&L) responsibilities for thedivision.
  • Establish and achieve annual growthtargets, budgets, and forecast performance metrics.

StrategicLeadership:

  • Play a pivotal leadership role indelivering multi-disciplinary projects across theregion.
  • Develop and implement strategic plansto enhance the division's capabilities and marketpresence.

Client AccountManagement:

  • Build and maintain strongrelationships with key clients, acting as the primary point ofcontact.
  • Ensure client satisfaction andidentify opportunities for repeat business and new projectwins.

ProjectOversight:

  • Ensure the successful delivery ofcomplex infrastructure projects, adhering to quality, safety, andregulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with otherdepartments and stakeholders to achieve seamless projectintegration.
  • Bachelor's degree inCivil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field; aMaster's degree is preferred.
  • Minimumof 20 years of experience in the transportation infrastructuresector, with at least 5 years in a senior leadershiprole.
  • Demonstrated expertise in managing designteams and delivering large-scale roads, highways and structuresprojects.
  • Strong financial management skillswith experience in P&L oversight and achieving growthobjectives.
  • Excellent client managementcapabilities with a track record of fostering long-term clientrelationships.
  • Familiarity with regionalstandards, codes, and regulatory frameworks in the MiddleEast.
  • Exceptional strategic leadership anddecision making abilities.
  • Ability to inspire,mentor, and lead diverse, multidisciplinaryteams.
  • Exceptional interpersonal andcommunication skills.

1. Strategic Planning andDevelopment

  • RoadNetwork Planning: Develop and implement long-termplans for road infrastructure, including the expansion, upgrading,and maintenance of road networks to meet growing transportationdemands.
  • ProjectPrioritization: Prioritize road projects based onfactors such as traffic demand, safety concerns, environmentalimpact, and availablefunding.
  • Collaboration withStakeholders: Work closely with government agencies,local authorities, contractors, and other stakeholders to alignroad development plans with regional or national transportationgoals.
  • Policy and RegulatoryCompliance: Ensure that all road projects complywith national and local regulations, safety standards, andenvironmental requirements.

2.Road Design and ConstructionOversight

  • SuperviseRoad Design: Oversee the design of roadinfrastructure projects, ensuring that designs are efficient,cost-effective, and meet all safety and qualitystandards.
  • Manage ConstructionProjects: Monitor the progress of road constructionprojects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, andto requiredspecifications.
  • QualityControl: Ensure that construction materials,techniques, and methods meet the necessary standards and that allwork complies with safetyregulations.

3.OperationalManagement

  • MaintenancePrograms: Develop and oversee the implementation ofmaintenance programs to ensure that existing road infrastructure isregularly inspected, repaired, andmaintained.
  • TrafficManagement: Work on strategies to manage trafficflow, reduce congestion, and improve road safety, including theimplementation of intelligent transportation systems(ITS).
  • IncidentManagement: Oversee the development andimplementation of emergency response procedures for road accidentsor road closures, working with emergency services and trafficcontrol.

4. FinancialManagement

  • Budgetingand Financial Oversight: Develop budgets for roadinfrastructure projects and ongoing maintenance, ensuring thatresources are allocated efficiently and that projects are deliveredwithin financialconstraints.
  • Funding and ResourceAllocation: Seek funding from government bodies,grants, or private partnerships to support road infrastructuredevelopment and maintenanceprograms.
  • CostControl: Monitor and control costs throughout theproject lifecycle, from planning and design through to constructionand post-construction maintenance.

5.Safety andCompliance

  • EnsureRoad Safety: Develop and enforce policies andprocedures to enhance road safety, minimize accidents, and improvethe overall safety of roadusers.
  • RiskManagement: Assess risks associated with roadconstruction and maintenance activities, ensuring that safetyprotocols are in place to mitigate thoserisks.
  • Compliance withStandards: Ensure compliance with international,national, and local safety, environmental, and quality standardsrelated to road infrastructure.
