Roles and responsibilities
  • Ensure that Project isexecuted in compliance with HSE Management Plan, HSE ManagementProcedure, Environmental Management Procedure, Potential RiskRegister, HSE Audit/Procedure, OHS Systems and any other HSErelated documents.
  • Coordinate with the site HSETeam and lead the team along with a clear-cut planning, focuspoints to be monitored and assign area allocation along with thetargets for raising daily HSE observations in different activitiesand continuous follow up with construction team forcloseout.
  • Taking prompt actions for therepeated observation and to prevent from re-occurrence and fromindirect loses to the project Budget.
  • Engagesenior management to provide leadership and oversight on HSEissues.
  • Provide advise on HSE best practicesand recommended improvements incompliance with the legalrequirements.
  • Monitor safety performance ofon-site workers to determinevulnerability.
  • Identify and remove unsafe orhazardous materials from job sites before eachshift.
  • Take part in Accident / incidentInvestigation, chasing for the evidence and find the causes toprepare a detailed incident report followed by Incident Re-call toprevent from re-occurrence.
  • Check workers toensure that they are wearing the PPE (helmets, jackets, and gloves)before they begin their shift.
  • Inspect theworkplace at the beginning of each day to make sure it is safe foroperation.
  • Perform inspection on equipment andtools that workers will use during theirshift.
  • Check the stability of scaffolding andmake sure that all the components are of good quality incoordination with the scaffoldinspector.
  • Perform accident investigation togauge measures that need to be taken to prevent them the nexttime.
  • Conducts investigations of all accidentsand near-misses and prepares detailed report of accidents /incidents and near miss.
  • Watches out for thesafety of all workers and works to protect them from enteringhazardous situations.
  • Educate workers about thecompany's safety policy and procedures that they need tofollow.
  • Store hazardous materials and dangerousequipment in specially designated storage places complying withCOSHH procedures.
  • Inspect safety-relatedcomplaints such as spills, poisoning and diseaseoutbreaks.
  • Conduct safety training andorientations.
  • Enforce safety guidelines on thejob sites.
  • Involves in preparation of RiskAssessment, COSHH Assessment &Reviewing.
  • Ensure the Approved Risk Assessmentbeen communicated to involved parties handling the task as pertheir scope of work.
  • Develop and submit acomprehensive safety report of each inspectionundertaken.
  • Trains and carries out drills andexercises on how to manage emergencysituations.
  • Plan, organize and conductperiodical safety campaigns. Conduct ongoing safety communicationswere deemed necessary to enhance safety behavior andculture.
  • Identify and isolate areas that arepotential health hazards by placing signs in a language ofunderstanding and around them.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree inMechanical Engineering
  • Minimum 4 – 5years experience in design and buildingprojects
  • Well versed in contractual terms andconditions, FDIC & method of measurements especiallyCESSM.
  • Experience in Measurements, costcomparison

    • RaisingAwareness: Promoting safety awareness across theorganization, educating employees about the importance of safetyand their role in maintaining a safeenvironment.

  • IncidentInvestigation andReporting:

    • IncidentInvestigation: Investigating workplace accidents,injuries, or environmental incidents to determine their root causeand prevent recurrence.
    • Reportingand Documentation: Preparing detailed reports onincidents, accidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions, andsubmitting them to senior management and regulatory authorities asrequired.
    • Root CauseAnalysis: Using tools like Root CauseAnalysis (RCA) and Failure Mode andEffects Analysis (FMEA) to find and correctunderlying causes ofincidents.

  • DevelopingSafety Policies andProcedures:

    • CreatingSafety Plans: Developing safety management plans,emergency response procedures, and evacuation plans tailored to thespecific risks of theworkplace.
    • UpdatingPolicies: Regularly reviewing and updating health,safety, and environmental policies to ensure continuous improvementandcompliance.

  • InspectionsandAudits:

    • WorkplaceInspections: Conducting regular inspections of theworkplace to ensure that safety measures are in place, thatequipment is functioning properly, and that hazards areaddressed.
    • Audits:Performing internal HSE audits to ensure compliance with companypolicies, safety standards, and legalrequirements.
