Roles and responsibilities

Responsible for obtaining approvals for materials submittal in all activities.Responsible for preparing Asphalt mix designs of various types i.e. Base, Binder and wearing course, obtaining approvals from consultant/Engineers and ensuring the same to be produced from Asphalt plant.Responsible for preparation of various concrete mix designs and conducted plant trials to ensuring the quality of concrete mix.Responsible for interaction with consultants and client for day-to-day activities that take place at site regarding workmanship of the product quality standard maintain for the work.Control of Non-Conforming product at site and inspection of all incoming materials to the site.Ensuring maintenance of all Quality management documents and Record Viz plans, Inspection, test record and checklist.Developing, modifying, testing, and evaluating materials.Providing technical advice about the suitability of materials diagnosing faults.Advising on, planning, and organising inspections, maintenance, and repairs.Overseeing operational quality control processes.Liaising with suppliers, customers, and manufacturing/development staff.Supervising technical staff.Conduct and ensure in-depth Fracture Analysis and Technical Reports.Maintain cycle time objective within responsibility areas.Address materials and process concerns from suppliers, manufacturing, and customers.Offer material information and data to Engineering.Update material logs.Test at external sources.Interpret results, write reports, and communicate with client representative engineers.Analyse product failure data and laboratory test results in order to determine causes of problems and develop solutions.Conduct or supervise tests on raw materials or finished products to ensure their quality.Design and direct the testing and/or control of processing procedures.Determine appropriate methods for construction of works.Monitor material performance and evaluate material deterioration.Plan and implement laboratory operations for the purpose of developing material testing procedures that meet project specification, and performance standards.Review material submittals and make recommendations for material selection based on specification objectives, such as strength, weight, heat resistance, electrical conductivity, and cost.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.Aware of Abu Dhabi Standards and Regulations.Aware of Roads, Structures, and Civil Infrastructure Works.10 years experience overall, 5 years experience in the UAE PREFERRED.Desired candidate profile

Material Science ExpertiseUnderstanding of Materials Properties:

Deep knowledge of the physical, chemical, mechanical, and thermal properties of materials. This includes properties like strength, elasticity, conductivity, corrosion resistance, and thermal expansion.Material Selection:

Expertise in selecting the right materials for specific applications based on their properties, performance requirements, and environmental considerations (e.g., cost, durability, weight).Materials Testing:

Knowledge of materials testing methods (e.g., tensile testing, hardness testing, impact testing) and the ability to interpret test results to understand how materials will perform in real-world conditions.Failure Analysis:

The ability to perform failure analysis, identifying why materials fail under stress or extreme conditions, and recommending improvements to avoid such failures in the future.2.

Manufacturing and Processing TechniquesMaterials Processing:

Understanding of different manufacturing processes like casting, welding, extrusion, molding, and additive manufacturing (3D printing) and how they affect the properties of materials.Fabrication and Forming:

Expertise in processes for shaping materials, such as machining, stamping, and forging, and understanding how these processes affect the material properties.Nanotechnology:

Familiarity with the development and use of nanomaterials and nanotechnology in engineering, which can involve materials with enhanced properties at the atomic or molecular level.3.

Design and Engineering SkillsCAD Software:

Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software for creating models, simulations, and prototypes of products made from specific materials. Tools such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or CATIA may be used.Finite Element Analysis (FEA):

Knowledge of FEA tools to simulate and predict how materials will behave under various conditions (stress, heat, etc.) and optimize designs.Product Development:

Ability to work with design teams to develop new products and prototypes, considering material properties to ensure optimal performance and manufacturability.Optimization:

Optimizing the choice of materials and design for performance, cost-effectiveness, and sustainability.4.

Knowledge of Material TypesMetals and Alloys:

Understanding of ferrous (steel, iron) and non-ferrous (aluminum, copper, titanium) materials, their alloying processes, and the types of applications they are best suited for.Polymers and Plastics:

Expertise in the behavior of polymers and plastics, including thermosetting, thermoplastic, and elastomer materials, and their applications in a wide variety of industries.Ceramics and Glasses:

Knowledge of ceramic materials, including their strength, brittleness, thermal conductivity, and use in high-temperature applications like aerospace or electronics.Composites:

Familiarity with composite materials (e.g., carbon fiber, fiberglass), which are made from two or more distinct materials, and understanding how they combine to create superior properties (strength-to-weight ratio, corrosion resistance, etc.).#J-18808-Ljbffr
