About our client

Our client is a prestigious infrastructure team with a strong track record. This is an exciting opportunity for an Associate Principal to join their growing team based in Abu Dhabi. This role will involve identifying, executing and monitoring Infrastructure and natural resources investments across both funds and co-investments, including contributing to all aspects of the deal process as a member of the deal team. What the job involves
  • Assists in screening of new investments considering all relevant macro and industry trends in accordance with the department's investment mandate
  • Evaluates new investments which includes receiving and reviewing offers for participation in new investment opportunities (covering funds (primaries and secondaries) and co-investments)
  • Establishes and maintains relationships with GPs, advisors and industry contacts
  • Evaluates the performance of existing investments and seeks to improve value through the consideration of strategic initiatives
  • Benchmarks investment opportunities (funds and co-investments) against relevant peers and comparable companies/precedent transactions
  • Carries out due diligence to identify the critical factors that impact an investment
  • Prepares investment committee recommendations on an accurate and timely basis as well as internal monitoring documents such as company updates, company dashboards and meeting notes for the team and the investment committee
  • Maintains and updates records for all activities in the assigned countries, sectors and companies
  • Demonstrates sound understanding of the infrastructure and natural resources asset classes, including the attributes affecting the risk/return profile of different investment opportunities and the main elements necessary to construct a well-diversified portfolio
  • Monitors performance and risk parameters by producing return analysis and performance attribution of different investments and portfolios
  • Works independently and pays particular attention to the accuracy of his/her work
  • Carries out other similar or related duties as assigned
Who we are looking for
  • University Degree
  • MBA or other advanced financial qualification desirable such as ACA, CFA
  • Relevant work experience in investment banking or project finance followed by a tier 1 investment firm in a buy-side role primarily covering the unlisted Infrastructure sector (such as Energy, Transportation or Telecoms)
