Roles and responsibilities
  • Lead designs to meet withthe requirements of the relevant building codes. Where this is notpossible or unfeasible able to develop, with the support of seniorsdevelop performance-based designsolutions.
  • Experience undertaking onsiteinspections of projects under constructions to ensure the firestrategy is adopted within the construction project lifecycle.
  • Arrange and present projects toapproving authorities to demonstrate compliance tostandards.
  • Undertaking material submittals andshop drawing reviews for both architectural and fire protectionrequirements, clearly communicating the requirements to the projectteam.
  • Lead multidisciplinary projects,incorporating the requirements within the design via otherdisciplines.
  • Able to understand and interpretCFD modelling results (1D and 3D).
  • UndertakeCFD modelling of proposed engineering solutions using 1D/ 3Dsoftware as necessary.
  • Able to develop firestrategy report to an exceptional standard. Articulateperformance-based design solutions to the project team and documentwithin reports with knowledge of performance-based design codessuch as International Fire Engineering Guidelines (IFEG) andSociety of Fire Protection Engineering Guide(SFPE).
  • Able to undertake reviews of proposeddesigns in BIM, utilising appropriate software such as AutodeskConstruction Cloud and Revit.
  • Mentor andsupport junior staff.
  • Able to communicateefficiently design requirement in a timely manner with themultidisciplinary design team.
  • Able to work onmultiple projects at the same time.
  • Ensurecompliance to QMS policies andprocedures.
  • Ability to work collaboratively ina team environment.
  • Ability to work effectivelywith people at all levels in an organisation, internally andexternally.
  • Ability to communicate complexideas effectively, both verbally and in writing, in English andArabic is a plus.
Desired candidate profile
  • Focus on the delivery of high-quality technicaldesign reports to the required regulations and clientrequirements.
  • With the assistance of the juniorstaff develop comprehensive fire and life safetydrawings
  • Lead and contribute to technical workgroups.
  • Undertake reviews of architectural,fire protection, electrical or mechanical shop drawings inaccordance with the relevant codes and the firestrategy
  • Undertake reviews of materialssubmittals for compliance to the fire strategy and relevantstatutory requirements
  • Experienced with theInternational Building Code, International Fire Code, SaudiBuilding Codes, and NFPA Standards.
  • Ability towork in BIM.

PROJECTLEADERSHIP

  • Able to manage fire and life safetyprojects and multidisciplinary projects with minimal input from theteam.
  • Commercial agility, delivering projectson time and in budget.
  • Able to forecast projectcosts and expenses.
  • Ensure statutory andregulatory requirements are met. Where necessary developperformance-based design solutions.
  • Ensureproject programs are met and advise on any foreseendelays.
  • Participate and lead internalmulti-discipline knowledge sharinginitiatives.
