Roles and responsibilities

The ideal candidate will have astrong understanding of MV Systems design principles, andapplicable codes. Aware of Eaton’s Medium VoltageSwitchgear and Grid Automation solution. Responsibilities includedesigning, analyzing, and implementing Utilities applications. Theperfect candidate should be currently working in MV switchgearmanufacturer/OEM within UAE.

KeyResponsibilities

  • Design and specify electricalsystems/solution for Utilities application including equipmentdesign/selection and Softwareimplementation.
  • Professional in usingEPLAN/similar software along with the advanced automation featureslike macros.
  • Preparing detailed electricaldrawings submittals including General arrangement drawings,schematics, and bill of materials.
  • Expert inpower systems studies including load flow analysis, short circuitstudies, Arc Flash analysis, relay coordination using simulationsoftware packages like ETAP.
  • Initiate and leadEngineering development & optimization activities includingprocess/activities automation.
  • Able to engagewith Consultants/PMCs and end-users for technicalapprovals.
  • Coordination between differentinternal and external teams.
  • Problem solvingtechniques including troubleshooting of electrical system siteissues and provide technical support to End Users /PMC &Consultants.
  • Stay up-to-date on latestelectrical codes and standards
  • Early engagementwith End Users/EPCs & Consultants on project developmentand spec-in activities when required.
  • Closediscussion with the Factories/BUs to ensure customers/projectsrequirements compliance.
  • Continuouscollaboration with the Product Line Managers respectively tounderstand the product updates andtactics.
  • Engaging with the CSO's tounderstand more about the market dynamics and voice ofcustomers.

Desired candidate profile
  • Bachelor's degree in ElectricalEngineering from a reputed institute
  • Minimum of5 years of experience in electrical system design for industrialapplications

Skills

  • In-depth knowledge of IEC, IEEE, NECother applicable electrical codes andstandards
  • Proficient in electrical designsoftware, 3D Modeling software is aplus.
  • SoftwareRequirements:
    • EPLAN/ELCAD – AdvancedLevel
    • AutoCAD – AdvancedLevel
    • ETAP – AdvancedLevel
    • Microsoft Excel and Macros –Advanced Level
    • SAP – IntermediateLevel
    • Python, C++, other Language is aPlus
  • Excellentcommunication, presentation, and interpersonalskills
  • Strong problem-solving and analyticalabilities
  • Ability to work independently and aspart of a team
