Roles and responsibilities
  • Lead, direct and followthrough different cross-functional innovation projects of variedsizes and technologies
  • Follow market trends andmap disruptions by attending seminars and other technological andproduct marketing events
  • Drive the innovation& new technology agenda, interpret NOMAC'sO&M business strategy and determine innovative and newtechnology solutions supporting strategyimplementation
  • Coordinate and work closely withvarious functions and teams like SVP, VP's, relevantplant PGMs, SMEs, PAT, ACWA Power Innovation, BD &technology team, NOMAC BD and other departments (as necessary) tounderstand challenges and focus areas for improving the bottom lineby introducing innovation and new technologysolutions.
  • Coordinate with PurchasingDepartment to work closely with OEMs, service providers andsub-contractors in order to conduct demos and develop solutionmodels.
  • Perform due diligence visits asnecessary to arrive at meaningful solution to addressbusiness-critical issue and provide comprehensive reports to themanagement and respective stakeholders
  • Preparea risk matrix for all solutions and present mitigation strategy andaction plans to management and concernedDepartment(s)
  • Coordinate with the internalTechnical, Benchmarking and Risk teams highlighting the key risks,opportunities, recommended equipment partners and contractors, riskmitigation strategies, cost-benefit analyses etc., to ensure allthe key elements are raised, discussed and resolved in a timely andefficient manner
  • Prepare and present businesscase to the management on innovative and new technologysolutions
  • Regularly report to the supervisor onthe operational activities of department, challenges and issuesfaced, mitigation actions taken, etc. as required, to keep theminformed and updated on the department'sactivities
  • Inculcate a dynamic innovationculture within NOMAC by creating company-wide internal innovationplatform to source new ideas and solutions in an open-innovationenvironment and reward the best ideas with InnovationTrophies
  • Contribute and influence strategicdirection for management through presentations on innovative andnew technology solutions
  • Attend meetings atvarious locations (in different countries) either in person orremotely on a short notice to participate and understand theO&M challenges requiring innovative and new technologysolution

BudgetManagement

  • Preparedepartment's budget; manage and monitor the financialperformance against the budget so that areas of unsatisfactoryperformance are identified, rectified promptly and potentialdepartmental performance improvement opportunities are capitalizedupon.

Health, Safety,Security and Environment

  • Ensure compliance toall relevant health, safety, security and environmental managementpolicies, procedures and controls across the department toguarantee employee safety, legislative compliance and a responsibleenvironmentalattitude

  • Identifyopportunities of improvement and contribute to organizational anddepartmental change initiatives, programmes and projects takinginto account best practice and standards in the businessenvironment

  • Commercially astute, and ableto structure solution to a problem in the best way possible, whilealso minimizing risk to the business

  • Excellent relationship building,presentation and communication skills
  • Goodunderstanding of Project & Business Development in Power& Water Sector involving technical, legal and projectfinance knowledge, and a thorough understanding of the businessvalue chain
  • A pro-active high achiever withhigh energy levels, who is used to working under pressure and totight/challenging deadlines even while travelling or workingremotely

Who willfit?

  • ABachelor degree holder in Mechanical, Electrical/Electronics,Industrial or Chemical Engineering or relatedfield
  • 15+ years' experiencepreferably in the Power & Water and other associatedsectors with minimum of 5 years in a managerialcapacity.
  • Extensive depth and breadth ofknowledge and exposure to Power industry including fossil fuel,Renewables (Solar PV and CSP, Wind & Battery Storage) andWater Desalination Industry including Sea WaterRO
  • Preferably Saudinational
