Inthis role you will:

  • Schedule plan and prepareannual work programme of assessing food safety & halalcompliance audits of selected Emirates F&B partnersglobally that require extensive international travel foraudits.
  • Conduct independent fair and thoroughfood safety and Halal audits at global Emirates F&Bpartners adhering to internationally recognised principles ofauditing.
  • Develop and update the EK food safetyand Halal compliance manuals.
  • Conduct regularpresentations to all key stakeholders and provide updates to theteam on important changes to global/country specificlegislation.
  • Develop and maintain the EKdesigned supplier selfassessment questionnaire In accordance withthe globally recognised HACCP regulations. Ensure annual suppliercompletion and follow up on all relevant correctiveactions.
  • Liaise with EK Group Legal CustomerAffairs and Insurance on food safety related cases. Investigate andrespond to food safety related queries raised by the EK InternalAudit team and Dubai Municipality inspectors and prepare allsupporting documentation.
  • Identify supplierperformance trends with regards to food safety and Halalcompliance. Analyse and recommend to the catering leadership waysto continually improve food hygiene and food safety standardsacross the network.
  • Develop and delivertechnical training to all key stakeholders on the importance of theEK food safety program GMPs pest control verification personnelhygiene practices preventative maintenance schedules andoperational Halal compliance.
  • Review approveand maintain all ingredient declarations in the catering managementsystem ensuring that all EK nominated food and beverage items arecompliant with the globally recognised Food Safety and Halalstandards.
  • Accountable for maintaining theaccuracy of all food safety and Halal related documentationincident and corrective action management on the cateringmanagement system Ensure that all vendors comply with the terms andconditions outlined in their agreed service levelagreement.
  • Manage the EK defined product recallprocess and act as a pivotal member of the recall team. Carry outregular product recall mocks challenging the team with varyingscenarios. Ensure that the recall register and processdocumentation is up to date and accurate and that the recall teamare acutely aware of their role andresponsibilities.

Qualifications &Experience: To be considered for the role you must meet therequirements below:

  • Completed Degree or Honours(123 or equivalent) in Science. A Degree in Microbiology/BiologicalSciences/Environmental health or an equivalent would be consideredan asset/advantage.
  • Internationally recognisedFood Safety and Halal Internal or Lead Auditor Qualification from arecognised institute.
  • A minimum of 5 years ofexperience in conducting Internal and External Food Safety andQuality Audits.
  • 5 years of experience workingin Food & Beverage Manufacturing or a Cateringindustry.
  • Experience in food manufacturingcatering and food safety in a laboratoryenvironment.
  • Experience in InFlight Services orInFlight Catering is considered anasset
  • Completed professional/operationaltraining at an advanced level.
  • Excellentstandard of written and spokenEnglish.
  • Selfmotivated
  • Theability to frequently travel internationally for duty isrequired.
