JobOverview 

TheRiskManager willbe responsibleforidentifyingassessing and managing risks associated with the metro rail projectduring the Design & Build (D&B) phase.This role involves developing andimplementing risk management plans ensuring compliance with riskmanagement protocols and providing support during the constructionsupervision phase. The Risk Manager will work closely with variousdepartments to ensure the successful execution oftheproject.  

RolesandResponsibilities: 

  • Workwith client project teams to gain understanding of projectsinterrogate client issued documentation (scope scheduleestimate). 

    • Facilitaterisk workshops ensuring suitable records are kept ofdiscussions. 

      • Beable to interrogate cost information (usually excel) to classifyproject costs in terms of client design contractor costs andextractcontingency. 

        • QAchecks of all documentation prior to issue toclient. 

          • Developand update internal risk management trainingmaterials. 

            • Maintain& regularly update internal processesprocedures andwork instructions to ensure consistent business approach andalignment with corporatestrategy. 

              • Developand implement risk mitigation strategies to minimize the impact ofidentifiedrisks. 

                • Identifymonitor andreview potential risks related to theproject including financial operational and safetyrisks and update managementplans asnecessary. 

                  • Assessthe likelihood and impact ofidentified risksprioritizing them based on their potential impact on theproject. 

                    • Identifypotential risks related to the project including financialoperational and safetyrisks. 

                      • Assessthe likelihood and impact ofidentified risksprioritizing them based on their potential impact on theproject. 

                        • Ensurecompliance with all relevant risk management protocols andstandards. 

                          • Provideregular risk management reports to the client and internalstakeholders highlighting any significant risks and mitigationmeasures. 

                            • Engagewith stakeholders including contractorsto ensure their understanding and supportof risk managementactivities. 

                              • Coordinatewith the management teams andother departments to ensurea holisticapproach to riskmanagement. 

Qualificationsand EducationalRequirements: 

  • Bachelorsdegree in Engineering ConstructionManagement Business Administration or a related field. AMasters degree ispreferred. 

    • Professionalcertifications such as Project Management Professional (PMP) RiskManagement Professional (RMP) or equivalentare highlydesirable. 

KnowledgeandExperience: 

  • Minimumof1015years of experienceexperience inrisk management preferably in the construction or infrastructuresector. 

    • Indepthknowledge of risk management principles construction contracts andindustrystandards. 

      • Stronganalytical communication and interpersonal skills. Ability tomanage multiple risks and stakeholderseffectively. 

        • Managemultiple project workloads concurrently able to prioritizework. 

          • Beable to use @Risk to generate cost model information creation ofmodelling for variousscenarios. 

            • Beable to interrogate MS Project and P6 to recreate a highlevelschedule for modellingpurposes. 

              • Managecreation of slide decks executive summaries and full reports foreach project using standard templates create drafttext.

  • Stronganalytical and problemsolving skills with the ability toidentify andmitigate risks specific to largescale infrastructureprojects. 

    • Highlevel of attention to detail ensuringaccuracy in risk assessments and mitigationplans. 

      • Provenleadership skills with the ability to lead and motivate a team in ahighpressureenvironment. 

        • Manageclient project team relationships to continue project riskmanagementsupport. 

          • Experiencein managing complex projects with the ability to meet tightdeadlines and handle multiple taskssimultaneously. 

            • Excellentcommunication skills with the ability to present complex riskinformation clearly and concisely to stakeholders at alllevels. 

              • Proficiencyin risk management software and tools as well as a strongunderstanding of engineering and constructionprocesses.
