To greet customers cheerfully,courteously and professionally, take orders, prepare specialty food& beverage items and fulfill orders. Your main goal isproviding an exemplary customer experience. KeyResponsibilities:

  • Welcoming customers to the coffee andproviding excellent customer service throughout theirvisit.
  • Offering expert advice, recommendationsand answering questions about coffee and otherdrinks.
  • Preparing a range of different coffeedrinks including espresso, café latte, macchiato, flatwhite and cold brew.
  • Cleaning and maintainingespresso machine and other equipment, managing any repairs whenneeded.
  • Cleaning and restocking displaycabinets and serving food items such as sandwiches, baked goodsetc.
  • Maintaining compliance with health andsafety regulations.
  • Processing cash and cardsales via the POS machine.

  1. CoffeePreparation

    • EspressoBrewing: Operating espresso machines to brewhigh-quality espresso shots, which form the base for many coffeedrinks.
    • Milk Steaming andFrothing: Frothing milk for drinks like lattes,cappuccinos, and mochas. This requires skill to achieve the righttexture and temperature.
    • BrewingMethods: Familiarity with various brewing techniques(drip coffee, pour-over, French press) and using them according tocustomer preferences or menuspecifications.

  2. CustomerService

    • TakingOrders: Interacting with customers to take theirorders, offering recommendations, and ensuring they get the drinksthey want.
    • ServingDrinks: Preparing drinks to order and serving thempromptly with a friendlydemeanor.
    • CustomerInteraction: Building relationships with regularcustomers, engaging with new ones, and ensuring they have apositiveexperience.

  3. MaintainingCleanliness andEquipment

    • CleaningEquipment: Regularly cleaning espresso machines,grinders, and other coffee-making equipment to ensure quality andsafety.
    • WorkstationOrganization: Keeping the coffee bar area clean,organized, and well-stocked with necessary supplies, such as coffeebeans, syrups, milk, andcups.
    • Sanitation:Adhering to food safety standards, including proper handling ofmilk, beverages, and cleaningprocedures.

  4. ManagingInventory

    • StockManagement: Monitoring and restocking coffeesupplies and ingredients, such as milk, coffee beans, syrups, andother beverages, ensuring the coffee shop operatessmoothly.
    • OrderingSupplies: Alerting supervisors when stock levels arelow and helping order new stock asneeded.

  5. CreatingLatte Art(Optional)

    • Somebaristas are skilled in latte art,where they use steamed milk to create intricate designs on thesurface of espresso drinks. This is an optional skill but highlyvalued in many high-end coffeeshops.
