The successfulcandidate will work as Research Assistant at the Abu DhabiInternational Virtual Research Institute for Food Security in theDrylands. This institute features a comprehensive and highlyinterdisciplinary R&D program and provides an internationalcollaboration platform for researchers and stakeholders of thepublic and private food and agricultural sector. The virtualresearch institute strives to generate knowledge and technologicalinnovation to support food security in the UAE and other aridenvironments of the world. As part of one of its research themes,the institute aims to use digital tools to track and forecastterrestrial and aquatic farm animal disease transmission paths. Tosupport this work, we are looking for a highly skilled computerprogrammer comfortable with front- and back-end programming. As aFull Stack Developer, you should be familiar with developmentframeworks and third-party libraries. You should also be a teamplayer with a knack for visual design and utility. You'llbe part of a cross-functional team responsible for the fullsoftware development life cycle, from conception to deployment.Familiarity with Agile methodologies is considered an addedadvantage. Major Responsibilities: - Work with development teams toideate software solutions - Design client-side and server-sidearchitecture - Build the front-end of applications throughappealing visual design - Develop and manage well-functioningdatabases and applications - Write effective APIs - Test softwareto ensure responsiveness and efficiency - Troubleshoot, debug andupgrade software - Create security and data protection settings -Build features and applications with a mobile responsive design -Ensuring cross-platform optimization for mobile phones. - Writetechnical documentation - Work with data scientists and analysts toimprove software

MinimumQualification

  • 4+ years ofdemonstrable experience - Expertise in front-end technologies suchas JavaScript, CSS3, and HTML5 and third-party libraries such asReact Js, Angular, and jQuery is preferred - Knowledge ofserver-side programming languages like Python, Ruby, Java, PHP, and.Net - Familiarity with DBMS technology, including SQLServer,Oracle, MongoDB, and MySQL, and caching mechanisms - Includingknowledge of UI/UX and basic prototype design - Experience workingwith Nginx or Apache servers with a solid background in Linux -Demonstrable portfolio of released applications on the App store orthe Android market - Extensive knowledge of at least oneprogramming language like Swift, Java, Javascript (React Native),Dart (Flutter) - Familiarity with OOP design principles -Experience with third-party libraries and APIs - Superioranalytical skills with a good problem-solving attitude - Ability toperform in a team environment

PreferredQualification

Extensive experience inprogramming on large/medium scaleprojects.
