We are seeking an experiencedProcurement Engineer - Civil finishes to join our team in Dubai. Asa key member of our project delivery team, the candidate will playa crucial role in ensuring the successful execution of civilprocurement activities for residential and building projects. Yourexpertise in overseas procurement will be essential as we navigatecomplex supply chains and source high-quality civil finishesitems.

KeyResponsibilities:

Responsibilities

Procurement:Collaborate with international suppliers and manufacturers toprocure civil finishes materials, equipment, and systems. Leverageyour knowledge of global markets to identify cost-effectivesolutions while maintaining quality standards.

Vendor Management:Evaluate and select vendors based on their track record,reliability, and ability to meet project requirements. Negotiatecontracts, terms, and pricing to optimize procurementoutcomes.

TechnicalSpecifications: Work closely with project managers,architects, and ID designers to understand technicalspecifications. Ensure that purchased items align with projectrequirements and comply with relevant standards.

Supply ChainOptimization: Streamline procurement processes,minimize lead times, and manage inventory effectively. Identifypotential risks and develop mitigationstrategies.

Cost Control:Monitor project budgets, track expenses, and implement cost-savingmeasures. Collaborate with finance teams to ensure adherence tofinancial targets.

Quality Assurance:Implement quality control procedures for Civil finishes components.Conduct inspections and audits to verify compliance withspecifications.

Documentation andReporting: Maintain accurate records of procurementactivities, including purchase orders, delivery schedules, andsupplier performance. Generate regular reports for managementreview.

Collaboration: Workclosely with cross-functional teams, including engineering,construction, and logistics, to ensure seamless projectexecution.

Market Research:Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, andbest practices in civil finishing items procurement. Identifyopportunities for innovation and processimprovement.

Qualification

Bachelor's degree in civil /architectural engineering, Construction Management, or relatedfield.

Proven expertise in civil finishesmaterials & systems used in residential and hotelbuildings.

At least 10-15 years of experience inprocurement, with an expertise on materialprocurement.

Strong communication, andorganizational skills. Expertise in at least 5 different foreignlanguages.

Demonstrable success in managingoverseas procurement.

Proficiency in procurementsoftware and advanced researchmethodologies.

Familiarity with procurementprocesses, including vendor selection, negotiation, and contractmanagement.

Strong analytical skills with theability to evaluate supplier proposals and make data-drivendecisions.

Willingness to travel internationallyas needed.

  • MarketResearch: Conduct in-depth research to identify andevaluate new materials, products, and technologies that couldimprove the quality, cost-effectiveness, and efficiency ofprocurement for engineeringprojects.
  • Supplier MarketIntelligence: Gather intelligence on suppliercapabilities, market trends, pricing fluctuations, and emergingtechnologies, ensuring that procurement strategies are informed bythe latest industrydevelopments.
  • TechnologyScouting: Research and analyze emergingtechnologies, materials, and equipment that could impact thedesign, quality, or sustainability of engineeringsolutions.
  • RiskAnalysis: Identify and assess risks associated withprocurement, including supply chain disruptions, materialshortages, and technological obsolescence, and propose mitigationstrategies.

2.Technical Procurement andSourcing

  • TechnicalSpecifications: Collaborate with engineering teamsto understand the technical requirements of materials andcomponents, and ensure procurement strategies align with thesespecifications.
  • SupplierSelection: Evaluate and select suppliers based ontechnical capabilities, quality standards, delivery timelines, andcost-effectiveness. Ensure that suppliers can meet theproject's engineering and technicalrequirements.
  • Technology andMaterial Evaluation: Lead technical evaluations ofnew materials, products, or technologies, performing assessmentsand testing to ensure that they meet the project's needsand compliancestandards.

3.Cross-FunctionalCollaboration

  • Collaborationwith Engineers and Designers: Work closely withengineers, designers, and project managers to ensure that theprocurement strategy is in line with the technical needs of theproject and the overall engineeringdesign.
  • StakeholderCommunication: Serve as a technical liaison betweenprocurement, engineering teams, and other departments, ensuringthat all stakeholders are aligned on specifications, schedules, andcost considerations.
  • SupportEngineering Decisions: Provide technical input andrecommendations that support engineering decision-making regardingmaterial selection, supplier choice, and projecttimelines.

4. CostOptimization and BudgetManagement

  • CostAnalysis: Use market research data and technicalknowledge to identify cost-saving opportunities, withoutcompromising on the quality or performance of the materials andtechnologies procured.
  • BudgetManagement: Work with finance and project teams todevelop procurement budgets and ensure that materials and servicesare purchased within the allocatedbudget.
  • ValueEngineering: Apply principles of value engineeringto identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiencyimprovements during the procurementprocess.
