SoftwareDevelopment

  1. WritingCode

    • Translating userneeds and system requirements into written code that can becompiled and executed.
    • Using programminglanguages like Python, Java, C++, JavaScript, PHP, Ruby, Swift, andothers, depending on theproject.

  2. CreatingAlgorithms

    • Designingefficient algorithms that solve specific problems within anapplication, such as sorting data, managing user inputs, orhandling networkrequests.

  3. Debuggingand Testing

    • Identifyingand fixing bugs or errors in the code to ensure the software runssmoothly.
    • Writing and executing unit tests toverify that the software performs as expected and to catch anypotential issuesearly.

  4. OptimizingCode

    • Refining code toimprove its performance, scalability, and maintainability, reducingthe resource consumption and increasing speed wherepossible.

CollaborationandCommunication

  1. WorkingwithTeams

    • Collaboratingwith other programmers, designers, product managers, and qualityassurance (QA) engineers to deliver the best possiblesolution.
    • Participating in team meetings todiscuss requirements, progress, and projectgoals.

  2. UnderstandingUserRequirements

    • Communicatingwith clients, stakeholders, or end-users to understand their needsand how software can address them.
    • Translatingfunctional requirements into technical specifications fordevelopment.

  3. VersionControl

    • Using versioncontrol systems like Git to track changes, collaborate with otherdevelopers, and manage different versions of thecodebase.

TypesofProgramming

  1. FrontendDevelopment

    • Creatingthe part of software or a website that users interact with, whichincludes writing HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to structure and stylethe user interface (UI).
    • Using frameworks likeReact, Angular, or Vue.js to build dynamic webapplications.

  2. BackendDevelopment

    • Writingserver-side code that processes user requests, interacts withdatabases, and handles applicationlogic.
    • Working with technologies like Node.js,Java, C#, or Ruby on Rails, and using databases such as MySQL,PostgreSQL, orMongoDB.

  3. Full-StackDevelopment

    • Combiningboth frontend and backend development skills to build completeapplications.
    • A full-stack developer isproficient in both the client-side and server-side aspects ofsoftwaredevelopment.

  4. MobileDevelopment

    • Developingapplications for mobile devices using languages like Swift (iOS) orKotlin (Android).
    • Designing apps that providesmooth user experiences on smartphones andtablets.

  5. GameDevelopment

    • Writingcode for video games, which may involve working with game engineslike Unity or Unreal Engine.
    • Game programmersfocus on creating game mechanics, simulations, and performanceoptimization for real-timeinteraction.

  6. EmbeddedSystemsProgramming

    • Writingcode for devices that are not traditional computers, such asmicrocontrollers, automotive systems, or medicaldevices.
    • These systems often have strictperformance, memory, and powerconstraints.

  7. DataScience and MachineLearning

    • Programmingapplications that involve large amounts of data, such as dataprocessing, analysis, and building machine learningmodels.

Desired candidate profile

KeyResponsibilities:

  • Develop, maintain, and supportapplications built on PowerBuilder.
  • Collaboratewith business analysts to understand business requirements andtranslate them into effectivesolutions.
  • Optimize database performance andensure seamless application integration with Sybase ASA (experiencewith Sybase ASA is preferred).
  • Conduct testingand troubleshooting to ensure application stability and resolveissues.
  • Maintain clear and professionalcommunication in English with team members andstakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a PowerBuilderProgrammer.
  • Strong database skills, withexperience in Sybase ASA preferred.
  • Excellentcommunication skills, with proficiency in English for effectivecollaboration with businessanalysts.
  • Self-motivated and capable of workingindependently in a remote setup.
