Roles and responsibilities

The District Manager is responsiblefor the continuous improvement of store performance by monitoringand analyzing the performance, suggesting improvement actions andcontrol the implementation in line with the direction from seniormanagement and organization objectives. The role holder is alsoresponsible for coordinating internal functions to develop andmaintain synergies between functions as per the overallstrategy.

ROLEPROFILE

  • Ensure the proper conservation andutilization, and profitability of the store assets in the countryand guarantee store visits in assignedstores.
  • Support the development of the nationalconcept and oversee its application within thecountry.
  • Gather and analyse market informationand propose corrective actions for assigned stores whenrequired.
  • Provide inputs on MAFRetail's corporate policies and procedures, and monitorthe implementation.
  • Support the identificationof financial risk for the country and liaise with other countriesand Corporate Head Office for an actionplan.
  • Support new projects during the wholeproject phase and coordinate synergies betweenfunctions.
  • Ensure the promotional image ismaintained for the assigned stores.
  • Assist withthe implementation of the performance management process by settingobjectives, monitoring performance, and provide constructivefeedback and provide inputs to senior management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree in a relevant fieldis required, MBA is a preference.
  • 6+years' experience in a similar role, with at least 3 yearsin the retail industry.
  • Demonstrated high levelskills in team management.
  • Strong businesscommunication and presentationskills.
  • Excellent negotiation and stakeholdermanagement.

    • Identify areas ofimprovement in operational efficiency and implement correctivemeasures.

    • Drivesales performance and work with store managers to meet or exceedsales targets.
    • Analyze sales data to identifytrends and opportunities for improvement.
    • Workwith teams to develop and execute local sales strategies toincreaserevenue.

  • TeamLeadership andDevelopment

    • Lead andmotivate store managers and their teams to achieve performancegoals and maintain high levels of customerservice.
    • Recruit, hire, and train storemanagers and key staff members.
    • Provide ongoingcoaching, training, and performance feedback to ensure professionalgrowth andsuccess.

  • CustomerService andSatisfaction

    • Ensurethat customer service standards are consistently met or exceeded atall locations.
    • Address customer complaints orissues promptly, working to resolve conflicts and improve customersatisfaction.
    • Promote a customer-centricculture across allstores.

  • Budgetingand FinancialManagement

    • Manage thedistrict's budget, ensuring profitability and costcontrol.
    • Monitor and analyze financialstatements, including sales, expenses, and profitmargins.
    • Identify opportunities to reduce costsand improve profitability while maintaining quality and servicestandards.

  • MarketingandPromotions

    • Implementand monitor local marketing and promotional activities to drivetraffic to stores.
    • Ensure alignment withcorporate marketing strategies and help tailor them to the localmarket.
    • Analyze the success of promotions andsuggestimprovements.

  • Complianceand Reporting

    • Ensureall stores comply with company policies, industry regulations, andsafety standards.
    • Complete regular reports andprovide updates to senior management on performance, issues, andinitiatives.
    • Monitor and enforce health,safety, and security standards across alllocations.
