MAIN FOCUS OF ROLE

To establish, implement, and oversee flydubai's Safety Management System, reporting to the GCAA/EASA Nominated Person for Safety.

KEY DUTIES

  • Lead and manage Safety Department resources to ensure effective implementation of GCAA/EASA/ICAO safety regulations & flydubai internal standards.
  • Prepare and publish the Company Safety Management System (SMS) Manual, ensuring comprehensive documentation of safety procedures and protocols in alignment with regulatory requirements and internal standards.
  • Develop, implement, and manage safety programs, policies, and procedures to cover all operational aspects, ensuring comprehensive safety management.
  • Manage the safety occurrence reporting program, including reports from subcontracted activities/providers, and oversee the safety assurance program, ensuring comprehensive safety oversight.
  • Oversee the preparation and publication of the Safety Department Local Procedures, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Coordinate and manage investigations of incidents and accidents following ICAO Annex 13.
  • Manage Hazard Identification & Risk Assessment in collaboration with operational business units.
  • Develop policies and guidelines for safety management training initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and industry best practices.
  • Provide consultation to the Nominated Person of Safety for potential escalation to the Management Review Board (MRB) and Safety Action Group (SAG) activities, ensuring alignment with safety objectives.
  • Ensure operations are conducted in accordance with the conditions and restrictions of the Air Operator Certificate (AOC), and in compliance with applicable regulations and company standards.
  • Oversee Safety Department Systems, including the Flight Data Monitoring program and Safety business solution, ensuring their effective operation.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Education Level

· Bachelor's Degree (3+ years)

Education Specific Requirement (if applicable)

· Suitable Aviation Safety / Operational discipline

Certifications (if applicable)

· ICAO Annex 13 Accident Investigation protocols or equivalent

Licenses (if applicable)

· Holds or has held an ATPL / AMEL

Languages

· Fluent in English

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

Years with Qualifications

· 10

Professional Experience

· 10 years of experience working in airline operations, of which at least 1 year has been in a management role.

Systems Knowledge (if applicable)
