Overview of the role:
As the Finance Transformation Lead, you will play a critical role in supporting the Head of Finance Transformation in driving strategic initiatives aimed at transforming the finance function within the organization. You will lead specific projects and initiatives, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to streamline processes, leverage technology, and optimize resources to enhance financial efficiency and effectiveness. This role requires a combination of financial expertise, project management skills, and change management capabilities.
What you will do:
- Project Leadership: Lead finance transformation projects from initiation to completion, ensuring alignment with overall transformation goals and objectives.
- Support the head of finance transformation in developing project plans, business case, timelines, and deliverables, and oversee project execution through a tool and drive results.
- Process Optimization: Identify opportunities to streamline and standardize finance processes to improve efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.
- Work closely with finance teams to redesign workflows, implement best practices, and automate repetitive tasks.
- Technology Integration: Collaborate with IT and finance teams to evaluate, select, and implement finance technologies (e.g., ERP systems, automation tools, data analytics platforms).
- Lead efforts to integrate new technologies into existing systems and processes to enhance financial reporting, forecasting, and analysis capabilities.
- Change Management: Support the Head of Finance Transformation in driving a culture of continuous improvement and change readiness within the finance function.
- Develop change management plans, communication strategies, and training programs to facilitate smooth adoption of new processes and technologies.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with key stakeholders across the organization, including finance, IT, operations, and business units, to ensure alignment and collaboration on transformation initiatives.
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders and provide regular updates on project progress and milestones.
- Performance Measurement: Define KPIs and metrics to measure the effectiveness and impact of finance transformation initiatives.
- Monitor and analyze performance data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
- Prepare regular reports and presentations for senior leadership.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks associated with finance transformation projects, including potential impacts on financial reporting, compliance, and internal controls.
- Ensure that transformation efforts adhere to regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Team Collaboration: Collaborate with other members of the finance transformation team to share best practices, lessons learned, and resources.
- Provide support and guidance to team members as needed to ensure successful project delivery.
Required Skills to be successful:
- Project management experience including usage of any pm tools.
- Very strong verbal and written communication / presentation skills.
- Drafting / creating project charter, business case preparation & related experience.
- Understanding of core financial areas such as Financial Planning & Analysis, Financial Controlling.
About the Team:
You will be reporting to Head of Transformation - Finance
What equips you for the role:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- Finance Certification, ACCA, CFA or other relevant professional certifications preferred.
- 6+ years of experience in finance, accounting, or related roles, with a focus on process improvement, technology implementation, or transformation initiatives.
- Proven project management skills, PMP, Prince 2 including the ability to lead cross-functional teams and deliver projects on time and within budget.
- Strong understanding of finance principles, accounting standards, and financial systems.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
- Change management expertise, with the ability to drive cultural change and overcome resistance to change.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to solve complex problems and make data-driven decisions.
- Experience working with finance and accounting software applications, SAP systems, Power BI, and data analytics tools.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with evolving priorities and deadlines.
