Purpose and Scope:
Fuels Technician Lead responsible for installing, maintaining, repairing, and adjusting various components of liquid fuel systems used in airfields, including pumps, control valves, meters, strainers, filters, pipelines, and bulk storage installations.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Conducts periodic inspections to detect and correct leaks, corrosion, faulty fittings, and mechanical malfunctions
- Inspects electrical wiring, switches, and controls for safety
- Performs preventive maintenance inspections to ensure safety and detect potential hazards
- Repairs, replaces, and adjusts equipment to meet regulatory standards
- Performs troubleshooting, repairs, and modifications on liquid fuel systems
- Maintains various equipment and systems involving high pressure and toxic gases
- Uses a variety of tools and equipment for maintenance tasks
Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required
Minimum of five (5) years of experience in water/fuels with knowledge of safety rules, maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Must possess a journeyman license and have 3 or more years of plumbing experience. Ability to effectively communicate, solve practical problems, and interpret instructions.
Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:
Requires physical activities such as walking, climbing, lifting heavy tools, and working in various environmental conditions. Specific vision abilities are necessary. Exposure to moving parts, chemicals, weather conditions, and noise.
Other Responsibilities:
- Safety - Promote a safety culture and fulfill safety responsibilities
- Quality - Provide services that meet customer expectations
- Procedure Compliance - Implement operational, safety, and quality requirements
