Clothing Constructor/ Seamstress Responsibilities:

  • Accurately measuring customers using tape measures to ensure proper fit of garments.
  • Read and interpret patterns to cut and sew fabric according to specifications.
  • Cutting fabric to specified sizes based on patterns provided by designers or customers.
  • Altering or repairing customers' garments and other articles, which includes hemming, mending, lengthening, as well as taking in and letting out seams.
  • Fitting garments on customers to determine how the alterations should be done.
  • Constructing garments and other articles according to customers' specifications and preferences.

Clothing Constructor/Seamstress Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Aptitude for working with patterns and measurements
  • Creativity and ability to come up with new design ideas
  • Proven sewing experience.
  • Sound knowledge of various fabrics and sewing techniques.
  • The ability to work under time constraints.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Detailoriented.
  • Good color sense.

Education:

  • Basic High school (10 years of schooling).

Experience & Skills

  • Two to threeyear experience in cutting and stitching.

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Dubai: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)
