What We're Looking For

  • A minimum of 5 years of Sake Sommelier experience in a Luxury Hotel environment in the UAE.
  • A recognized sake certification such as Certified Sake Professional (CSP), Advanced Sake Professional (ASP), Sake Sommelier or their equivalent is preferred.
  • A proven track record of creating and maintaining a successful Sake Programme, with demonstrated expertise in sake Selection, Education, and Service.
  • Deep appreciation for sake Culture, History, and Craftsmanship.
- ophisticated Knowledge and Understanding of Japanese Sake, including different types, regions, brewing methos, flavour profiles and serving techniques, taking every opportunity to educate both Guests and Fellow 'FIVERs.'

  • Extensive knowledge of sake brands and the ability to discern quality and authenticity.
  • Computer literacy, with a mastery of Word, Excel, and Outlook, while possessing an exceptional knowledge of Hotel PMS, specifically Opera.
  • An energetic Conversationalist, engaging Guests with lively discussions.
  • A Proactive Nature, coupled with a meticulous Eye for Detail, ensuring every aspect of the Operation is curated to perfection.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, leveraging strong verbal and written skills to engage effectively with guests, FIVE Tribe Members, and stakeholders.
  • Next-Level Organisational and Supervisory skills, effectively managing inventory, conducting tastings, and handling multiple tasks.
  • A collaborative approach to working with Restaurant Teams, including Chefs, Servers, and Other Staff, fostering a Positive Work Environment.
  • A professional, Insta-Worthy Appearance, always adhering to FIVE's Grooming Standards and maintaining a polished, 'FIVE-Styled' demeanour.
  • A commitment to continuous learning, by exploring new Sake Trends, attending Training Sessions, and Continuously Expanding Knowledge.

  • Willingness to support our FIVE Tribe during peak periods and assist in other areas of the restaurant when needed.
  • Impeccable communication skills, both verbal and written, with fluency in English. Additional languages such as Japanese are a Plus.
  • A handson attitude, fuelled by a 'Can-Do' Spirit.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing Guest Preferences and Seasonal Menu Offerings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Forges Collaborative Partnerships with the Restaurant Management Team to curate an extensive and diverse sake menu, showcasing exquisite Japanese Sake Craftsmanship.
  • Conducts thorough Market Research to discern and procure Premium Sake Brands, with an unwavering focus on Quality, Authenticity, and Hand-Crafted Excellence.
  • Cultivates a profound understanding of the Unique Characteristics and Flavour Profiles of each sake on the menu, enabling Informed and Appropriate Recommendations to our guests.
  • Leads Training Sessions for FIVE Tribe Members, enhancing their expertise in sake, encompassing tasting techniques, precise serving temperatures, and the art of selecting handcrafted glassware.
  • Extends Expert Recommendations on Sake Pairings, ensuring they harmoniously complement the Food Menu.
  • Pioneers Interactive Tasting Sessions, narrating tasting notes, aromas, and textures, while encouraging guests to share their own experiences and preferences, creating an Engaging Sensory Experience.
  • Conducts interactive training sessions on Sake Service Etiquette, handling of handcrafted glassware, and the art of pouring, ensuring a Seamless and Authentic Guest Experience.
