Job Description:
WB Business Analytics enables business to gain analytical insights on Customer, Product and Operational data via BI and Analytical tools. The department partners with the Data Strategy and Governance function to build an ecosystem of business-owned and self-describing Data Products to complement / enable all forms of Analytics, BI, Operational, Regulatory and all other data dependent use-cases for WB Group (covering all entities) and thus ensure the transformation towards becoming a fully optimized data driven organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Credit Risk Modeling Subject Matter Expert (SME)
    • Work with Risk stakeholders on building the Credit Risk data product.
    • Responsible for overseeing the collection of data that feeds the bank's risk models.
    • Strong understanding of the banks risk controls including risk limits.
    • Credit Risk SME should have a strong understanding of the Basel framework and experience in building data structures/data marts that support Risk models(Corporate Rating, SME rating, IFRS9 PD- Corp/SME, IFRS9 LGD-Corp/SME, Sovereign - Dubai Govt- PD, Investments- PD/LGD).
    • Should be able to support all requirements for lending and treasury products.
  • Data Management
    • Strong understanding of Corporate products like Corporate Loans, Trade, Cash and Treasury products.
    • Work with the business, operations and support teams in WB and SME.
    • Data validation for availability and data accuracy.
    • Plan the data squad activities and lead the execution strategy.
  • Forming & Operationalizing Data Domain Working Groups
    • Identifying the relevant data consumers for the assigned data domains/sub-domains
  • Data Product level Functional Specifications
    • Converting the high-level data requirements from data consumers into detailed functional specifications (covering data mapping with golden source, business rules/data transformation rules, business glossary/data definitions, data quality rules, observability metrics, data access specifications etc.,)
  • Data Modeling Functionality Assurance Reviews
    • Working closely with Data Modeling team for the data products design based on the functional specifications.
  • Managerial: - Manage a team of business-focused and technically skilled data analysts / contractors to advance data products roadmap. - Mentor and coach, the team whilst providing technical & functional/data training and up-skilling as necessary
  • Key Teams to Collaborate with: - Understands all aspects of Data Strategy, Data Governance & Data Management and serve as a thought leader for the advancement of data strategy operationalization. - Works closely with the of Data Strategy & Governance office and respective data domain specialists for progressing the data product roadmap & delivery. - Works with Data Modeling teams for accomplishing the long-term stable design for Data Products
  • Self-Management Responsibilities: - Define performance goals at the start of the year in discussion with Reporting line managers and ensure that the goals are achieved during the course of the year. - Identified the training and development needs for self and agrees on them with reporting manager to ensure that the required upskilling is addressed.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelors/ Master's Degree in Information Management, Computer Science & Engineering, or equivalent degree from an accredited academic institution
  • Understanding and expert level proficiency in Data & Information Management domain and required tools & technologies
  • FRM certification preferred
  • Minimum 7+ years of experience in Data & Information Management and Data Governance domains
  • Minimum 2+ years of experience in holding managerial responsibilities
  • Demonstrated expertise & experience in working through a federated / centralized data strategy & governance models
  • Strong Banking domain knowledge. Strong experience in implementing robust data management solutions for financial organizations
  • Familiarity with credit risk management methodology and internal bank databases
  • Strong experience in leading major data initiatives – both developing data strategy and data management solutions implementation
  • Outstanding analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail. Tenacity to identify the root cause of problems is essential
  • Demonstrated expertise in all key facets of Data Management (Data Warehousing, BI, Data Governance, Data Quality, Master Data Management, Data Privacy Management, Application side Data Management and External Data Assets Management etc.,)
  • Robust knowledge of data, systems and analytical tools like SAS/SQL, R, Python, Pyspark etc., Proven ability to quickly learn new systems and data environments
