As part of the launch of this project, Morgan Philips Executive Search is the exclusive partner of E.ON SE in driving all stages of the process related to the setup of the organization in the United Arab Emirates.

Morgan Philips Executive Search, the Headhunting Company, is assisting E.ON in the recruitment of a Policy and Advocacy Leader. The Policy and Advocacy Leader is accountable for overseeing all aspects of the Carbon calculation & pricing strategy.

She/he has a critical role in advancing global carbon coverage, which includes the development of processes, market data, and analysis.

She/he will also play a central role in designing and executing the benchmark strategy for Commodity Insights' carbon price coverage related to key benchmarks.


The Policy and Advocacy Leader engages with key stakeholders internally and externally, including discussions related to the development of methodologies.

Key Responsibilities / Tasks

Develop a calculation and pricing strategy.

Ensure carbon project development, nature-based carbon accounting methodologies, and both global certification standards and National labels.


Ensuring regular legal monitoring particularly on matters related to NBS, as well as EU ETS, California, RGGI, and Australia compliance schemes in order to adapt business strategies.


Supporting business executive team in the delivery and management of large business deals, by presenting and its positions on all the policy topics.

To identify, understand and integrate all the policies and programs that could impact investments.

Produce internal memos and external papers outlining pertinent policy advancements, while offering explicit policy counsel and business implications.

Supervise the creation and execution of a communication plan, including the representation of the company in all external events (conferences, workshops, speakers' series, webinars, etc.)

Manage and organize participation and support in the development of market policies: define the company's position (advocacy roles, partners or neutral position)

Engage with internal and external stakeholders in order to develop and optimize the voluntary carbon markets.

Key Qualifications / Experience

Bachelor's or Master's degree in environmental sciences (energy, climate, etc.). A second degree in finance, law or business administration would be appreciated.

  • 10 years of experience in advisory, carbon trading and climate change issues.
Familiarity with carbon accounting standards and carbon policy.

Strong knowledge GHG Accounting methods, Standards, IPCCC rules.

Strong knowledge of the EU markets rules. A knowledge of other markets' rules will be appreciated.

Strong network within the main industry companies, initiatives, alliances, and NGOs, as well as public institutions.

Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills.

Good organizational planning skills; able to work collaboratively in a dynamic, fast-paced team environment.

Self-driven, energetic and proactive.

Ability to work in a team-oriented, global, multi-cultural environment.

Strong analytical skills, written skills, verbal skills and presentation skills.
