About the School


Nord Anglia International School Abu Dhabi (NAS Abu Dhabi) lies at the heart of the Emirate, on Al Reem Island.

In August 2023, we opened the school's new, purpose-built campus to our first cohort of students and began to do what Nord Anglia does best: make every moment at school count.

The Role


To lead all aspects of MOE Subjects across the whole school, such that all students achieve better than expected academic, personal and social outcomes.

To maximise student outcomes in MOE Subjects across all phases. More detail about the role and requirements can be found in the accompanying job description.

Qualifications / Experience

  • Degree in Arabic Literature or equivalent
  • Minimum of two years experience teaching
  • Experience of working and leading within a large Arabic department
  • Experience in teaching both Arabs and Non Arabs
  • Demonstrable evidence of innovating and adapting curricular to engage
- children and enable them to perform highly

  • Ability to support colleagues in the continued development of effective teaching and learning strategies
  • Proven leadership and people management skills
  • Working in partnership with parents

Core Requirements

  • Have a wealth of experience as an existing Head of Arabic B within the UAE, having led on successful ADEK inspections
  • Inspire trust and confidence in students, colleagues and parents and lead this area of NAS Abu Dhabi as a premium school in the UAE;
  • Strategically manage the longterm improvement plan for this area as directed by ADEK
  • Have an excellent grasp of the English language, be confidently fluent;
  • Contribute to the School Improvement Plan and promote the learning priorities of the school SIP;
  • Maximise student outcomes through effective use of the school systems for tracking, monitoring and intervention
  • Lead the department through a successful annual inspection by tracking, monitoring and presenting students' progress
  • Performance Manage staff in the department and ensure the professional practice in line with the school's aspirations and priorities;
  • Keep abreast of all national changes in MOE Subjects as directed by the government and implement as required;
  • Promote the wider aspirations and values of the school.
  • Work in collaboration with the English and the World Languages department to align learning in Arabic

Leading and Managing Staff

  • Facilitate staff in making constructive working relationships with children, their parents/carers and outside agencies
  • Establish clear expectations for staff involved in MOE Subjects, through team working and mutual support, devolving responsibilities and delegating tasks as appropriate, evaluating practice and developing a culture of accountability
  • Embedding clear professional development opportunities for staff, allowing for personal development and accountability over extended periods of time
  • Ensure high quality training, monitoring and support is provided during the induction of new staff.

  • Carry out Performance Management reviews with MOE Subject staff
