MachineSystems, experts in developing, producing and installing automatedpacking lines have now embarked on a new strategy with a focus onleveraging their wider capability and sourcing partners to deliverhigher levels of service to their customer base within Green andIndustrial solutions. The Technical Sales Engineer is responsiblefor generating, fostering and continuously managing third partysales, whilst also providing technical sales support, a customercare program and complete interface with Sales for automationsolution sales primarily linked (but not essentially) withcorrugated sales. With your customer focussed solution-orientedattitude and ability to think outside the box, you are ensuring theprofitable growth of Machine Systems.

Main responsibilities

  • Strengthen positiverelationship with existing customer portfolio and pro-activelydevelop new relationship with third partysales.
  • Build sustainable relationships acrossSmurfit Kappa corrugated to ensure one-stop solution for board andautomation to customers. Act as an ambassador for Machine Systemsto support all SK sales teams accordingly.
  • Actas technical ambassador both internally and externally (i.e.stakeholder / customer technical training, participation inexternal knowledge sharing, fairs & conferences, and soon).
  • Support the development process of thecustomer along the stage gate process until final formulation (frominitial enquiry to final costing formulation in line with MachineSystems' model).
  • Analyse process workflowagainst targets and ensure that responsibilities are split across.Introduce and track KPIs to validateeffectiveness.
  • Track and respond to customerson significant quality issues and analyse causes and possiblesolutions.
  • Provide on-site technical support interms of board and machinery supply as well as proactive problemsolving.
  • Work closely with the Technical Salesand Logistics Team to ensure projects and sales are delivered tobudget and on time.

Key Competencies andcharacteristics

  • Provenexperience of cost estimating and customer management with a stronggeneral business acumen, and knowledge of SK and the industry ingeneral.
  • Knowledge of Automation principals andMachinery ranges/types to deliver the correct solution for thecustomer and all stakeholders.
  • Stronganalytical, interpersonal and communication (including negotiation)skills; value-added solutionselling.
  • Self-starter andempathetic.
  • Have a wide degree of adaptability,creativity and enjoys dealing with complex problemsolving.
  • Collaborative mindset and excellentpeople skills including communication, training and leadershipability skills with the ability to align, empower and inspireothers.
  • Excellent computer literacy andproficiency in using Protean.
  • Understanding oftechnical drawings (Factory Layouts) preferred but notessential.
