Position Overview:


The Food & Beverage Coordinator within the Food Service Department at a hospital plays a crucial role in ensuring food service activities' smooth and efficient operation.

This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously. Experience in a Central Production Unit (CPU) is advantageous and beneficial for this position.

Responsibilities:

Coordinate Food Service Operations:

  • Oversee the daytoday operations of the food service department in the hospital.
  • Ensure compliance with established policies, procedures, and quality standards.
  • Coordinate and monitor food preparation, production, and delivery processes.
  • Collaborate with various departments to meet the dietary needs of patients and staff.
  • Manage timesheet and other HR related documentation for the project.

Menu Planning and Implementation:

  • Assist in developing and implementing menus that meet nutritional guidelines and dietary restrictions.
  • Collaborate with dietitians, chefs, and food service staff to create diverse and balanced meal options.
  • Monitor menu performance and make recommendations for improvements or adjustments.

Inventory Management:

  • Manage inventory levels of food, supplies, and equipment to ensure adequate stock.
  • Conduct regular inventory checks and coordinate with suppliers for timely deliveries.
  • Maintain accurate records of inventory transactions and monitor usage patterns.

Quality Assurance:

  • Implement and maintain quality control measures to ensure food safety and hygiene standards.
  • Conduct regular inspections of food production areas, equipment, and storage areas.
  • Address any identified issues promptly and take corrective actions.

Staff Supervision and Training:

  • Supervise and provide guidance to food service staff, including chefs, cooks, and support personnel.
  • Coordinate work schedules, assign tasks, and monitor performance.
  • Conduct training sessions on food safety, proper handling procedures, and customer service.

Central Production Unit (CPU) Experience:

  • Utilize prior experience in a Central Production Unit to optimize production and distribution processes.
  • Streamline food production workflows, ensuring efficiency and costeffectiveness.
  • Collaborate with CPU staff to coordinate the delivery of prepared food to various hospital locations.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Food Service, Hotels or a related field (preferred).
  • Proven experience in food service operations within a hotel, hospital or healthcare setting.
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and dietary guidelines.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
