Job Purpose:

The Manager Technical ProductPortfolio is a leader who applies their technical knowledge andanalytical skills to solve business problems. You will act as thefront door to technology providing a single view of demand / scopeacross the given product portfolio. You will assess and sequenceideas defining the highlevel need business value and effort incollaboration with technology teams and business leaders. This roleis critical to ensuring that the internal voice of the customer isheard and works with customers to constantly understand andcommunicate their needs and participate in the validation of theproposed solutions for the assigned technical teams within thePortfolio. Additionally you will also be responsible for the growthmaturity delivery roadmap commitment and evolution of the technicalproduct management capability within the portfolio.

What you will do:

  • Responsible for the What and Why intechnology terms driving the sequence and scope at a portfoliolevel working closely with all other Product Portfolios to ensurethat the impacted Product Portfolios are connected to deliverquality and innovative business solutions.
    Defines theproduct roadmap and vision for the technology products within theportfolio and ensures it is linked to all other product portfolios.
  • Initiates and curates strategic innovationideas from all stakeholders and jointly presents to businessproposition managers /business product manager and otherstakeholders and in collaboration with the business prioritisesinitiatives based on evidence.
  • Understands thelongterm investment strategy for the Portfolio and captures longterm business needs as well as the associated EnterpriseArchitecture Roadmaps that will require implementation within theportfolio. Advises key business and finance stakeholders on theannual and 3year investment levels required to achieve businessvalue technology debt reduction and scalability for the Portfolio.
  • Provides long term product roadmap to businessstakeholders associated with the assigned Product Portfolio.Evaluates business case for product roadmap investments andprovides value propositions at an enterprise capability level tooffer a set of differentiated solutions in which new integratedcapabilities may emerge to a respond to expanding end user patterns
  • Lead and drives continuous performanceimprovement across Technical Product Management capability throughadopting industry best practices to ensure quality and intuitivetechnology solutions are adopted and used by the customer
  • Shapes initiatives with portfolio teamsensuring alignment with appropriate internal governance andprocedures assuring the delivery of business value is at theforefront of all solutions
  • Evidences tobusiness stakeholders that product portfolio investments will meetbusiness needs and establish the minimum metrics needed. Postlaunch evaluation of initiatives ensuring the business value ismeasured and aligned with the business that it is adopted andrealised to assure that the implementation of the strategy alignswith the agreed boundaries and the results are continuouslyimproving.
  • Collaborate with other chapters andsubject matter experts to continuously improve the technicalproduct processes and practices required to build deploy monitorand test quality products which enables and delivers measurablebusiness value.
  • Establish position as athought leader through the technical Product Management and coachand mentor a team of high performing IT product professionalsproviding continuous feedback and facilitating professionaldevelopment. Enabling the Technical Product community to flourishthrough high levels of engagement and productivity and nurture andattract Product Owners and Managers and be a technical productleader with continuous coaching for agile teams that promotes aculture of failing fast learning and movingforward.

Qualifications& Experience: What you will bring:

  • Degree or Honours (123 orequivalent) : Degree in Business Operations Research Marketingscience Information Systems eCommerce or a combination of industrycertification
  • Minimum of 12 years relevantwork experience.

Knowledge/skills:

  • Leading a Product team inan Enterprise with a team size of 20 product professionals withsound people skills
  • Experience in thepractical application of the Technology Product Managementcapability
  • Ability to lead discussions toensure the viability or a portfolio of products building models andstrategizing solutions which explore and solve complex businessproblems/opportunities.
  • Build and maturemutually beneficial strategic partnerships with our technologypartners always striving to identify for potential synergies.
  • Proven record of building technology productspeople love looking for ways to create value and solve complexproblems with a drive for innovation.
  • Experienced at working crossfunctionally andaligning business unit processes to enterprise Manager/Owners
  • Proven Product Portfolio leadership experience(Ideally Product director Principal product or Group ProductManager role).
  • A track record of successfulTechnical Product Management at scale across multiple businessesB2C and B2B meeting the key business objectives
  • Good architectural knowledge of largescaleproducts and platforms
  • Ability to effectivelyconvey business concepts and the implications to technicalcolleagues.
  • Product Management skills: havingperformed the role of Product Owner and Manager prior to leading alarge portfolio or Business Capability
  • Previous aviation or travel &transportation industry experience desired

Preferable Experience:

  • Project delivery experienceis preferable
