Executive Pastry Chef for the Waldorf Astoria Dubai International Financial Centre


The Executive Pastry Chef for the Waldorf Astoria Dubai International Financial Centre is responsible for operating the pastry section of the kitchen to deliver an excellent Guest and Member experience while planning production and developing seasonal offerings.

Executive Pastry Chef is part of the leadership group within the culinary team, supporting all the CDP's, DCDP's and Commis and working closely with the Executive Chef.

Executive Pastry Chef is the leader that drives the whole pastry kitchen operations and team.

What will I be doing?


As a Executive Pastry Chef for the Waldorf Astoria Dubai International Financial Centre, you are responsible for operating the pastry section of the kitchen while working closely with the Head Chef to deliver an excellent guest and team member experience.

A Executive Pastry Chef will also be required to plan production and develop festive offerings.

Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

  • Manage the pastry operations for the hotel.
  • Monitor and control the maintenance of the entire pastry and bakery operation.
  • Create, plan and implement seasonal menu changes to provide variety and maintain guest's interest
  • In charge of Receiving & Stock-Rotation
  • Manage and train the pastry kitchen brigade effectively to ensure a wellorganised and motivated team
  • Carrying out banqueting events and catering events from event planning to completion
  • Ensure consistency in quality of hotel amenities and pastry dishes at all times
  • Ensure resources meet business needs through the effective management of working rotas
  • Support brand standards through the training and assessment of your team
  • Manage food cost controls to contribute to Food and Beverage revenue
  • Ensure compliance with food hygiene and Health and Safety standards

To successfully fill this role, you should maintain the attitude, behaviours, skills, and values that follow:

  • Previous experience as an Executive Pastry Chef in a luxury hotel.
  • Creative flair
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Excellent communication and creative skills
  • Committed to delivering a high level of guest service
It would be advantageous in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:

  • Luxury hospitality experience in a similar role
  • Locally available to conduct a Food Trial
