We are looking for a DCDP | Pastry to join our fast-growing specialized bakery team at _Pekoe Tea & Bread Bar_ in Al Quoz, Dubai, UAE to support our retail, dine-in, catering and wholesale operations.

Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Supervise and control the work of the kitchen personnel in Bakery section and assist with overseeing the daily operation of the kitchen
  • Ensure that the production, preparation, and presentation of food are always of the highest quality
  • Take charge of daily food preparation and duties assigned by Head Chef to meet the high standards that are defined
  • Ensure food portioning, serving, requisitions, costs, receiving, storage and sanitation are properly controlled
  • Have full awareness of all menu items, their recipes, methods of production and presentation standards.
  • Monitor and communicate all production issues including equipment malfunction, to Head Chef on a daily basis
  • Have knowledge of food costs control in a wholesale and retail environment
  • Supervision, guidance and coaching of junior team members including DCDP
  • Maintaining consistent communication and a positive relationship with the team
  • Carry out any other duties as required by senior kitchen team and management.

Requirements:

  • Diploma / Certification in Culinary or equivalent or experience in lieu

3-5 years' experience as a DCDP at a bakery or a in luxury hotel as a DCDP in the Bakery section:


  • Experience specifically with Sourdough breads and Viennoiserie:

Passionate about the art of baking and ability to bring ideas and handle issues:


  • Desire to learn, contribute and grow with the brand:
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Good communication skills and strong leadership skills. This position will require daily communication and hand off to the next shift for smooth operation and to meet the brand's highquality standards.
