VES is looking for a Senior Buyer to join our team in Dubai, UAE location.
This person will be responsible for coordinating activities related to the procurement of goods and services, such as raw materials, equipment, tools, parts, supplies, and consumables.
Initiate purchase requisitions in a timely manner and at the lowest possible cost, with quality and reliability in mind. Follow the company's safety, quality and continuous improvement policies and procedures.Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

Identify, contact, and negotiate with suppliers for information on raw materials, products, or services, such as pricing, availability, stock, supply agreements, and lead times, to meet service needs and sales forecasts.
Maintains working relationships with suppliers on all current and potential future businessEstablish and maintain relationships with suppliers through effective communication and by holding regular meetingsIdentify and recommend opportunities for cost savings and process improvementsPrepares purchase orders for raw materials, products, or services.
Ensures that all goods and services ordered are procured with clear instructions on the necessary documentation and conformity to the required specifications.
Pay special attention to detail to ensure the accuracy of all purchase ordersMaintains procurement metrics, such as items or services purchased, costs, delivery, product quality, or performanceAccelerates the delivery of goods to completion as per requirements and updates the ERP systemDiscuss defective or unacceptable goods or services with inspection or quality control, users, suppliers, and others to determine issue and resolve promptlyAssists the purchasing team and other divisions by informing them of any supply issues affecting business operations.
Helps to reduce acquisition costs by analyzing costs and proposing cost reduction measuresDiscuss price differences with the appropriate parties and resolve in a timely mannerProvides information and support for the development of new products, processes, or suppliersHealth, Safety and Environment Responsibility:Comply with the requirements of the Health, Safety and Environment System, apply the Varel International Policy to its activities to achieve the effectiveness and continuous improvement of production and administrative processes, in addition to leading and actively participating in training activities in the different processes and applying the concepts communicatedEducation and Experience:A bachelor's degree in supply chain management or a closely related fieldMinimum 5 years of purchasing experience, knowledge of purchasing principles and processes.
SAP & Excel expertiseExperience with PCE product lineProactively negotiate pricing with suppliers to achieve cost targets and participate in an effective improvement and cost-saving program for purchased materials and servicesEnsure suppliers understand procurement priorities and meet delivery requirementsDevelop and maintain sources and data and resolve price differencesDemonstrate knowledge of the purchasing module of an ERP system (preferably SAP)Analyze procurement reports to identify trends and activities that lead to those results and make recommendations for improvementDemonstrate effective interpersonal, communicative, and organizational skills.
