KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Create, update, and maintain geographic information system (GIS) databases.Produce high-quality maps and other graphical representations of spatial data.Perform spatial analysis to support various projects and decision-making processes.Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to understand GIS requirements and objectives.Conduct data collection, validation, and quality assurance procedures.Assist in the development and implementation of GIS standards, procedures, and best practices.Provide technical support and training to end-users of GIS software and tools.Stay updated on advancements in GIS technology and industry trends.
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERTISE:
Proficiency in GIS software such as ArcGIS, QGIS, or similar tools.Strong understanding of spatial data concepts, including coordinate systems, projections, and geoprocessing techniques.Familiarity with data formats commonly used in GIS, such as shapefiles, geodatabases, and raster datasets.Knowledge of cartographic principles and techniques for map design and layout.Ability to interpret and analyze spatial data to derive meaningful insights and conclusions.Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.Prior experience in GIS data management, analysis, or cartography is a plusEDUCATION AND TRAINING:Bachelor's degree in geography, GIS, environmental science, or a related field is preferred.
