The British International School Abu Dhabi is looking to appoint an outstanding Head of Primary to join a well-established, supportive team in a highly successful and expanding school.

The Head of Primary will inspire colleagues to inspire students.

He or she will be a compassionate, values-based leader and will maintain an inclusive culture for staff and for students.

High levels of professionalism and reflective practice will be embedded within the staff such that the school will offer its best to every family every day and will continue to expand provision for students each and every term.


The Head of Primary will personally lead all aspects of the Primary School and will work alongside the Principal and the Head of Secondary to lead the whole school.

All aspects of school life lie within the direct or indirect responsibility of the Head of Primary.

BIS Abu Dhabi is a growing school; we currently serve more than 2000 students from 3 to 18 years old that follow the best in British and international curricula, including the English National Curriculum, Cambridge IGCSE, and International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) and BTEC (Business).

Students follow the English National Curriculum from the Early Years Foundation Stage through to Year 11.

Students in Years 12 and 13 follow the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) or the newly introduced BTEC Business Programme.


We're proud to be the only Abu Dhabi International School that has achieved an Outstanding rating in the past year for both the ADEK (Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge) Inspection as well as the recent National Identity Mark Inspection.

Only 11 out of 197 Abu Dhabi based International schools have been awarded an outstanding rating by ADEK.

Furthermore, BIS Abu Dhabi was the only international school awarded Outstanding at the National Identity Inspection where schools were inspected along the strands of culture (Arabic language, History and Heritage), values (Respect, Compassion, Global understanding, and citizenship (Belonging, Volunteering, Conservation).
