JobOverview

We are looking for aqualified Director of Student Support to directly support themission of Statesmen College Preparatory Academy for Boys byensuring that the Statesmen vision of high-quality instruction istaking place within the classroom daily with a special focus onincreasing access and engagement for the scholars in our SpecialEducation or ELL program. Using vetted and evidence-basedmethodology appropriate to the specific disability or languagebarrier, our Student Support Specialists work with a team ofeducation professionals to guarantee greater engagement and successfor students with whom they workclosely.


The person best suited forthis role is a learning-oriented and inspirational teacher with adesire to impact the overall academic experience of underservedstudents. You will be an effectual and high performing teacherlooking to expand your knowledge and practice within the classroom.The best candidates will have an advanced degree and a track recordof creating high levels of academic growth within populations ofstudents with significant potential and limited experience of prioracademic success.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise the compliance and quality of allStudent Support Services programs. Serve as the SSS POC forexternal agencies. Manage documentation, tracking, and submissionsrequired for Medicaid reimbursement. Support the DoO with SPEDbudgeting and procurement. Engage appropriate data sources toevaluate students and programming, make recommendations and adjustas needed.
  • Schedule and facilitate SpecialEducation and Section 504 meetings. Maintain all systems anddocumentation for Special Education, Section 504, and EnglishLearner programs. Maintain organized, compliant, and comprehensiveelectronic files. Solicit data and insights from all relevantstakeholders to facilitate the drafting of high-quality IEPs andSection 504 plans with ambitious grade-level goals.
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively withfamilies, school staff, evaluators, and related service providersregarding meetings, progress, challenges and proposed solutions.Oversee RSP caseloads and service delivery. Share information,resources, and strategies in formats accessible to non-SPED expertsto support fidelitous implementation of IEPs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor s degree in Education or an alignedfield of study.
  • Understanding of teachingpractices and educational guidelines aligned to Common Core StateStandards.
  • Outstanding communication andinterpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational andproblem-solving skills.
  • Proof of full COVID-19vaccination (or a qualifiedexemption)
  • Authorized to work in the US(Statesmen does not sponsor employment visas)
