AVascular Surgeon Consultant is a highly specialized medicalprofessional who focuses on diagnosing and treating diseases andconditions affecting the vascular system which includes arteriesveins and lymphatic vessels. Their primary role involves providingcomprehensive care for patients with vascular disorders frominitial evaluation and diagnosis to surgical intervention andpostoperative management. Heres a more detailed job description fora Vascular SurgeonConsultant:

  • Conductthorough assessments of patients with vascular issues includingmedical history review physical examinations and diagnostic testssuch as ultrasounds angiograms and CT scans to determine the natureand severity of thecondition.
  • Developindividualized treatment plans tailored to each patients specificneeds and medical status. This may involve noninvasiveinterventions like lifestyle modifications medications or moreinvasive procedures such as endovascular therapy or traditionalopensurgery.
  • Performa wide range of surgical procedures to treat vascular conditionsincluding arterial bypass grafting endarterectomy angioplastystenting and thrombectomy. Utilize advanced surgical techniques andtechnologies to achieve optimal outcomes while minimizing risks tothepatient.
  • Workclosely with other healthcare professionals including cardiologistsradiologists anesthesiologists and nurses to coordinatecomprehensive care for patients before during and after surgicalprocedures. Participate in multidisciplinary conferences to discusscomplex cases and develop integrated treatmentplans.
  • Educatepatients and their families about vascular conditions treatmentoptions and preventive measures to promote better understanding andadherence to the recommended care plan. Provide counseling andsupport to address patients concerns and ensure they arewellinformed and empowered to participate in their own healthcaredecisions.
  • Stayabreast of the latest advancements in vascular surgery throughongoing professional development activities including attendingconferences participating in research studies and publishingscholarly articles. Contribute to the education and training ofmedical students residents and fellows in the field of vascularsurgery.
  • Participatein quality improvement initiatives to enhance the delivery ofvascular care and ensure patient safety. Adhere to evidencebasedpractices clinical guidelines and regulatory standards to achieveoptimal clinical outcomes and minimizecomplications.
    Provide longterm followup care forpatients with vascular conditions monitoring their progressaddressing any complications or recurrence of symptoms andadjusting treatment plans as needed to optimize their health andwellbeing overtime.


RequirementsExperienceFrom US (Board) Canada (Royal College Fellowship) UK (CCT) Ireland(CSD CSCST) Australia &NZ (Fellowship) France (DES DESC)And Other European Countries According to The QualificationEquivalence Tables of the UAEMOH
Minimum5years experiencein a hospital environment Western and Asian countries experience ispreferred. Asians with Gulf experience arepreferred.
Proficiencyin Microsoft Officesuite
Fluency in written andspoken English
MOH registeredPreferred
Ability to multitaskprioritize tasks and work efficiently in a fastpacedenvironment.
Willing to workflexible hours as and whenrequired
