A Vascular Surgeon Consultant is a highly specialized medical professional who focuses on diagnosing and treating diseases and conditions affecting the vascular system which includes arteries veins and lymphatic vessels. Their primary role involves providing comprehensive care for patients with vascular disorders from initial evaluation and diagnosis to surgical intervention and postoperative management. Heres a more detailed job description for a Vascular Surgeon Consultant:

  • Conduct thorough assessments of patients with vascular issues including medical history review physical examinations and diagnostic tests such as ultrasounds angiograms and CT scans to determine the nature and severity of the condition.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans tailored to each patients specific needs and medical status. This may involve noninvasive interventions like lifestyle modifications medications or more invasive procedures such as endovascular therapy or traditional open surgery.
  • Perform a wide range of surgical procedures to treat vascular conditions including arterial bypass grafting endarterectomy angioplasty stenting and thrombectomy. Utilize advanced surgical techniques and technologies to achieve optimal outcomes while minimizing risks to the patient.
  • Work closely with other healthcare professionals including cardiologists radiologists anesthesiologists and nurses to coordinate comprehensive care for patients before during and after surgical procedures. Participate in multidisciplinary conferences to discuss complex cases and develop integrated treatment plans.
  • Educate patients and their families about vascular conditions treatment options and preventive measures to promote better understanding and adherence to the recommended care plan. Provide counseling and support to address patients concerns and ensure they are wellinformed and empowered to participate in their own healthcare decisions.
  • Stay abreast of the latest advancements in vascular surgery through ongoing professional development activities including attending conferences participating in research studies and publishing scholarly articles. Contribute to the education and training of medical students residents and fellows in the field of vascular surgery.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance the delivery of vascular care and ensure patient safety. Adhere to evidencebased practices clinical guidelines and regulatory standards to achieve optimal clinical outcomes and minimize complications.
    Provide longterm followup care for patients with vascular conditions monitoring their progress addressing any complications or recurrence of symptoms and adjusting treatment plans as needed to optimize their health and wellbeing over time.


RequirementsExperience From US (Board) Canada (Royal College Fellowship) UK (CCT) Ireland (CSD CSCST) Australia &NZ (Fellowship) France (DES DESC) And Other European Countries According to The Qualification Equivalence Tables of the UAE MOH
Minimum 5 years experience in a hospital environment Western and Asian countries experience is preferred. Asians with Gulf experience are preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
Fluency in written and spoken English
MOH registered Preferred
Ability to multitask prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a fastpaced environment.
Willing to work flexible hours as and when required

Languages English Arabic Preferred
