We are looking for:

  • a high schooldiploma
  • experience in mechanical maintenance,electrical maintenance, welding, hydraulic / pneumatic systems,construction trades, or AC maintenance

What is thework?

Maintenance / Troubleshooting / Repair& Replacement / Training:

Buildings& Grounds

  • Installs/ repairs complex water supply lines using glued plastic,compression fittings, soldered copper tubing, or threadedpipe
  • Troubleshoots / repairs / replaces morecomplex facility equipment (turnstiles, security access gates,truck scales, etc.)
  • Performs skill-levelappropriate preventive maintenance (PM) tasks on buildings andgrounds equipment
  • Assists other technicians totroubleshoot / repair / replace building and grounds equipment orsystems, facility dock doors, roof leaks, concrete damage, gates,etc.

Mechanical

  • Uses appropriate tools, materials,and methods to perform mechanical tasks safely andefficiently
  • Troubleshoots / repairs / replacescompressor air ends, pumps, gear boxes, and all major components onfacility support equipment
  • Troubleshoots /repairs / replaces major components on all facility productionequipment (cranes, conveyors, diverters, AS / RS storage andretrieval machines, palletizers, automated stretch wrappers,etc.)
  • Performs PM tasks on major facilitysystems (stretch wrappers, palletizers,etc.)
  • Performs skill-level appropriate PM taskson facility mechanical equipment
  • Assists /trains lower-level techs to troubleshoot and repair dock levelers,restraints, etc.
  • Assists higher-leveltechnicians to install / troubleshoot / repair any facilitymechanical equipment or systems

Hydraulics &Pneumatics

  • Performs pumpdown, pressure discharge, and isolation procedures to make systemssafe prior to maintenanceactivities
  • Troubleshoots / repairs / replacesmajor facility equipment components (hydraulic power packs, aircompressor systems, battery changers, cranes, elevators,compactors, etc.)
  • Performs PM tasks oncompactor units, air compressors, hydraulic or pneumatic drivenequipment, battery changing machines, and hydraulic powerpacks
  • Performs skill-level appropriate PM taskson hydraulic and pneumatic power systems and facility operatingequipment
  • Trains / assists lower-leveltechnicians to troubleshoot / repair less complex equipmentcomponents
  • Assists higher-level technicians totroubleshoot / repair more complex hydraulic or pneumatic systemfailures

Heating, AirConditioning, Ventilation

  • Evaluates systems for properoperation and efficiency using manifold gauges, thermometers,manometers, etc.
  • Uses refrigerant recoverysystem and manifold gauges when evacuating and charging an HVAC orchiller system
  • Performs assigned PM tasks onHVAC equipment and water chiller
  • Trains /assists lower-level technicians to repair HVAC equipment and waterchillers
  • Assists higher-level technicians totroubleshoot / repair / install package HVAC or major chillersystem components

FireSuppression Systems

  • Applies / demonstrates knowledge ofpre-action systems and Radionics alarm panels, and associatedsystem components
  • Replaces damaged sprinklersystem components (audio / visual devices, pull stations, switchingdevices, pumps, etc.
  • Performs skill-levelappropriate PM tasks on a dry fire suppressionsystem
  • Assists in troubleshooting / repairingissues with fire suppression system, including pump controls, alarmpanels, and tamper switches

Electrical / Electronic

  • Installs new 120-volt and 277-voltcircuits to power equipment (wall switches, appliances, lightfixtures, small motors, breakers, disconnects, GFI protection,etc.)
  • Identifies / repairs moderately complexelectrical problems with production equipment electrical systems(PLC and computer control systems, variable frequency drives, motorcontrols, etc.)
  • Applies understanding ofcomplex control sequences to identify system failures /problems
  • Troubleshoots / repairs facility powerdistribution systems (distribution panels, motor control centers,equipment power panels, etc.)
  • Troubleshoots /repairs / assists higher-level technicians on main power systems(main breakers, power transformers, fuses, ground fault systems,phase failure systems, current transformers in 480-volt systems,etc.)
  • Troubleshoots / repairs / replaceslighting fixtures and powersupplies
  • Troubleshoots / repairs / replacescomponents in power distribution panels, motor control centers, andequipment power panels
  • Troubleshoots PLCnetworks and associated systems and equipment (proximity switches,scales, photo eyes, power supplies, I/O card,etc.
  • Performs skill-level appropriate PM tasks/ assists others doing PM tasks on electricalsystems
  • Trains / assists lower-leveltechnicians to perform electrical maintenance tasks

Welding

  • Prepares equipment and materials forwelding by cutting, grinding, orheating
  • Properly uses metal working tools(grinders, saws, drills, metal workers, etc.) to repair facilitymachinery
  • Brazes and cuts metal machinery usingan oxygen / acetylene torch
  • Makes complexequipment / facility repairs using electric arc stick, MIG, TIG,plasma or oxygen / acetylene equipment
  • Assistshigher-level technicians on more complex repairs or fabricationrequiring metal working and welding
  • Trains /assists lower-level technicians on more complex repairs orfabrication that requires metal working and welding

Compliance:

  • Follows standard operating procedures(SOP) related to work order and parts requisitionscompletion
  • Completes accident and incidentreports in compliance with policy

What is your background?

  • High schooldiploma
  • 4+ years of experience in mechanicalmaintenance, electrical maintenance, welding, hydraulic / pneumaticsystems, construction trades, or AC maintenance
