Position Overview:

As a New Product Development Specialist specializing in private label perfumes, you will play a key role in establishing the company as a leading private label manufacturer of perfumes. Your expertise will guide the development, sourcing, and successful launch of perfume products, ensuring that they meet the specific requirements of global and regional retail brands. You will manage a seamless, one-window solution encompassing supply chain operations, product development, logistics, legal, and financial processes, delivering products on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Private Label Product Development:
  • Lead the development of high-quality, custom perfume products for retail brands. Ensure products align with market trends, client preferences, and regulatory standards.
  • Business Development & Client Management:
  • Cultivate and nurture relationships with global and regional retail brands to grow the company&aposs private label business. Understand client needs and create tailored solutions that deliver value and competitive advantage.
  • Feasibility and Forecasting:
  • Conduct feasibility studies to determine the viability of new product concepts. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide accurate forecasts for production schedules, costs, and resources.
  • Sourcing & Vendor Management:
  • Source high-quality raw materials and fragrance ingredients to meet product specifications. Negotiate contracts with suppliers and manufacturers to ensure favorable terms and timely delivery.
  • Supply Chain & Logistics Management:
  • Oversee the entire supply chain, from raw material procurement to product distribution. Ensure efficient logistics and minimize costs and lead times while maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Regulatory Compliance & Legal Oversight:
  • Ensure products comply with local and international regulatory standards and legal requirements. Oversee documentation, certifications, and quality control procedures, ensuring smooth import/export transactions.
  • Cost Control & Budget Management:
  • Manage product development budgets and work with finance teams to track costs and maintain financial discipline across the product lifecycle.
  • Product Launch & Market Entry:
  • Coordinate the launch of new private label perfume lines, ensuring timely delivery to retail clients. Manage all aspects of the product introduction, from packaging design to marketing support.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Work closely with marketing, sales, quality control, and production teams to ensure successful product development and launch. Facilitate communication across teams to resolve any issues that may arise.
  • Continuous Improvement:
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, customer preferences, and emerging technologies in fragrance development to continuously improve the product offering and keep the company competitive.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Business, Marketing, Chemistry, or related field. A Masters degree is a plus.
  • Proven experience of 10 - 15 years in product development, business development, or private label manufacturing in the fragrance or cosmetic industry.
  • Strong knowledge of supply chain management, logistics, and procurement processes.
  • Familiarity with global regulatory requirements for perfumes and cosmetics.
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • High attention to detail, with a focus on quality and efficiency.
  • Knowledge of market trends and consumer preferences in the perfume industry.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and product management software (e.g., ERP systems).
  • Fluency in English; additional languages are a plus.
