Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiasticResearch Associate to join our international team in Leuven,Belgium. The successful candidate will play a critical role insupporting the translational research linked to our clinicalprograms and will work closely with a cross-functional team ofscientists to drive the development of innovative cancertherapies.
Responsibilities:
- You will plan and execute experimentsindependently, in a safe, efficient and correct manner.
- You will contribute to the development of thenew laboratory methods and assays to advance our understanding ofcancer biology and drug mechanism of action.
- Strong laboratory skills, including experiencewith cell culture (mammalian cell lines and primary cells),molecular biology techniques (RT-qPCR), and biochemical assays (WBand ELISA)
- Excellent problem-solving skillsand ability to work independently and as part of ateam
- You will analyze data and maintainaccurate and up-to-date laboratory records via the use of anelectronic lab notebook system, reports and/or slidepresentations.
- You will perform differentmolecular and biochemical techniques such as (qRT-)PCR, Westernblotting, ELISA, IHC and flow cytometry.
- Fromtime to time, you may be involved in performing animal experiments(e.g. tumor size measuring and tissueprocessing)
- You will participate in the dailylaboratory management, which includes follow-up of the deliveriesand stock management.
Profile:
- Bachelor'sdegree in laboratory technology, biotechnology, orBachelor/Master's in Life Sciences or equivalent.
- FELASA B certificate and with expertise inworking with laboratory animals
- Experience inhistology and/or FACS techniques (e.g. tissue processing andimaging) will be considered an asset.
- Since weare an international team, a good knowledge of English (written andoral) is needed.
