Location Category Quantity Surveying Senior Job Type Full-time Working Days Job Description The principal responsibility of the Senior Quantity Surveyor is to provide cost management advises to the project team. QS will review and recommend each payment certificate to the Resident Engineer, assist in the preparation of final payments, and assist in the evaluation and resolution of claims and contractual matters. Supervisory Responsibilities Technical supervision of Senior Quantity Surveyor at each project site (for certification and payments) Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Valuation and recommendation of all Contractor payment application Verify that the Payment certificates are timely submitted, in appropriate format with all required substantiations. Check the measured works and the calculations including materials (if required) claimed against delivery notes. Maintain records and logs for payments, variations, and cost/time related subjects. Preparation of final payment for recommendation to client within the time stated in the conditions of contract for the payment of final certificate. Management and assessment of any variation works. Prepare cost estimates as required. Monitor contract cost and forecast in each month to allow for the effect of approved and possible variations and claims. Monthly Cost Reporting. Attend monthly commercial meeting. Cash Flow monitoring and Reviewing contractor’s cash flow. Management of any Provisional Sums. Advise the Resident Engineer on contractual matters. Ensure completeness and validity of contractual requirements of the Contract documents. Monitor contract activities and correspondence for potential claims. Assist RE in evaluation of program of works, time extension claims etc. Review, negotiate and recommend claim settlements as appropriate with client. At the completion of a job, prepare a report that (1) compares the estimated costs of variations between approved shop drawings and original contract drawings (the differences between the estimated quantities and costs and the quantities and costs derived from remeasurement of the approved shop drawings), and (2) compares the value of work done between actual work completed and approved shop drawings (the quantities and values of work done beyond the approved shop drawings ( Subjected to the Contract Conditions). Job RequirementsMinimum 10 years of experience. Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field. Previous experience in construction management or a similar role is preferred. Strong knowledge of construction practices, codes, and regulations. Proficiency in project management software and tools. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. #J-18808-Ljbffr
