Job Summary

ThisCompanys New Energies (NE) organization was established to helpachieve the companys low carbon ambitions; meet its decarbonizationtargets; and develop its production shipping and marketing of lowcarbon hydrogen and ammonia. NE has so far consolidated intoRenewables Hydrogen and Carbon Capture & Storage verticals withthe broad vision to nurture robust and sustainable globalbusinesses by capitalizing on emerging opportunities in strategicgrowth markets. The Shipping Development Specialist is an integralpart of the Shipping Team within NEs Hydrogen Department.

The Shipping Development Specialist is responsible for:developing shipping and chartering strategies; ammonia fleetdevelopment activities; program economics; as well as analyzingplanning and implementing This Companys shipping plans throughdirect engagement with ship operators to establish long term timecharters. This important role will also interact with internalstakeholders to ensure maximum value capture for the This Companygroup.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor marine market trends analyzing anddefining short and longterm marine transportation options todevelop optimal product delivery strategies.
  • Identify optimal vessels negotiate rates and short andlongterm charter party terms.
  • Define allcommercial and contractual details for negotiated charter partyterms.
  • Develop and provide market research onvessel availability and freight economics terminal projects andshipping competitors.
  • Coordinate closely withschedulers to nominate tonnage in a manner that will optimizesystem freight costs minimize demurrage and ensure timely deliveryof cargoes.
  • Communicate and liaise withshipowners and utility companies and network and maintainrelationships with market players to keep abreast of marketdevelopments and opportunities.
  • Coordinatewith internal stakeholders to build a fundamental shipping model inorder to enable strategy decisions.
  • Coordinateanalyze and prepare transportation plan documents ensuring qualityand completion.
  • Coordinate and analyzeshipping operations expenses calculation and review coveringfuelbunker and ship maintenance.
  • Coordinatemonitor and analyze fuel bunker consumption ship maintenancedrydocking and activity to ensure all processes are completedeffectively.
  • Coordinate and analyze theconsolidation of information and reports on issues during loadingsailing and discharging to ensure availability of timelyreports.
  • Coordinate and participate incompatibility studies between ship and shore for buyers terminal toensure all requirements and conditions are incorporated foreffective and efficient shipping operations.

Requirements:

  • This role required candidate topermanently relocate at Dhahran SaudiArabia.
  • Bachelors degree inEngineering Business Economics or related discipline; an MBA or arelevant advanced degree is strongly preferred.
  • At least 15 years of professional experience incommercial shipping roles with a proven track record of negotiationof longterm charter party agreements.
  • Provenability to analyze market data develop models use derivatives andidentify commercial opportunities.
  • Proveneffective negotiating skills and commercial judgment.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively withmultinational teams.
