The Compliance Officer acts asa member of the Legal & Compliance Department(L&C). The Compliance Officer materially contributes tobuilding implementing and managing the health care compliance and(if applicable) the distribution management program of our clientin EMEA. The Compliance Officer acts as the first point of contactfor business units and functions for healthcare or distributionmanagement compliance matters or other compliance matters orprograms. The Compliance Officer leads one or more Centres ofExcellence.

JobScope:

Appliesextensive knowledge and expertise in health care compliance antibribery and distribution management and leads a consistentimplementation of the compliance program in its cluster to thedifferent Business Units through daytoday advice trainingmonitoring audits and reporting. Handles and coordinates daytodaylegal matters in its cluster under the supervision of a legalcounsel.

Inhis/her role the Senior Compliance Officer will report to aCompliance Manager or legal counsel and collaborate with and beguided by expert legal counsel. Guides and coaches the compliancecoordinators (administrators) of the different businesses in itscluster and if applicable other compliance officers in its area ofexpertise.

Leadsone or more Centres of Excellence or leads or contributes(depending on the project) to EMEA wide compliance projects such asimproving compliance processes and procedures drafting policies orautomation.

HealthCare antibribery and Distribution Management ComplianceProgram

  • Actas the compliance officer in your cluster and for the distributionmanagement program and give daytoday guidance and support to allBUs/functions.
  • Adviseon Healthcare Company (HCC) and distribution management matters asfirst point of contact for the country/cluster sales and marketingteams and any group interacting with an Healthcare Provider(HCP)/Healthcare Organisation (HCO) or distributor from thecountry/cluster.
  • Traincoach and guide the country/cluster BU Compliance Coordinator intheir tasks related to Health Care Compliance processes anddistribution management if applicable and work with BU andfunctions so that compliance is embedded in all relevant daytodayoperations andprocesses.
  • Contributeto the development management and implementation of a consistentcompliance program and to the drafting of policies procedures andstandards in your cluster/program and throughoutEMEA.
  • Identifyneeds for training and provide training to associates upon hire andon a regular basis after that with an additional focus on localregulations.
  • Approverequests and draft appropriate documentation and contracts forinteractions with local HCP/HCO (HCP Consultancy local Eventsgrants & donations etc.) and for terminating setting upextending or amending distributors (due diligence andcontracts).
  • Suggestand perform monitoring activities at local level; assess risks andtake appropriate steps to improve the effectiveness of theprogram.
  • Performhealthcare compliance activities including transparency reportingand compliance contractreview.
  • Conductaudits supporting the Internal Auditteam.
  • Conductinternal investigations when appointed as aninvestigator.
  • Providetimely and adequate input for the reporting and other reportingrequirements.
  • Actas a lead or colead of a Center of Excellence such as distributionmanagement monitoring transparency reporting or others as requiredand design implement and manage a consistent program for allbusinesses in EMEA take the lead of the program coordinate with allother stakeholders in the Legal and Compliance team and theBUs/functions draft up to date policies and procedures providingtraining and continuously implementingimprovements.
  • Actas the owner of the compliance tool or system and ensure technicalsupport is obtained from the vendor manage KPI s and administer thesystem review and implementimprovements.

Legalsupport and support to other EMEA CompliancePrograms

  • Handledaytoday legal and compliance matters in a variety of legal andcompliance areas by supporting legal counsel or acting as a firstPoint Of Contact towards the business and functions. These mattersmay include due diligence of customers or suppliers litigationtraining IP management corporate housekeeping ESG (Environmentalsocial and governance) or others asrequired.
  • Coordinatecontract work draft and review standard contracts and performcontractmanagement.
  • Contributeto EMEA compliance programs such as international trade privacy orothers asapplicable.

Memberof the Legal and Complianceteam

  • Activelyparticipate in the team meetings; bring legal and compliance topicsto the meetings and ensure alignment and consistent approach ontopics in your area of expertise.
  • Activelyparticipate in the compliancemeetings
  • Workeffectively in the matrix organisation with your colleagues in thelegal department and discuss and proactively resolve any overlapsor ambiguities and ensure (leading by example) collaboration opencommunication and sharing of information with other members in theLegal and Compliance Department. Support close cooperation andcommunication in the Legal & ComplianceTeam.
  • Contributeto legal and compliance projects/programs which may involvedrafting and implementing standards policies training andautomation and affect multiple business or functions throughoutEMEA.
  • Workeffectively with and coordinate matters handled by outside counselunder supervision of a more senior lawyer.
  • Effectivelynetwork outside the company with peers in the law community andparticipate in the activities of industry associations andcompliance professionalorganisations.
  • Reporton a regular basis and in a structured manner on the areas you areresponsiblefor.
  • Bediscrete and maintainconfidentiality.

Complianceexpert
  • Actas an internal expert in compliance and in the areas of expertiseassigned to you and be the goto person in your area ofexpertise.
  • Keepknowledge up to date and provide advice and appropriate training toother members of the legaldepartment.
  • Participatein local trade industry compliance forum if applicable orpossible.
  • Consultwith Expert Legal Counsel with respect to complex compliance issueslocal laws contract templates and othermatters.
