Interface Manager

Projects within the EPCM model arewide and varied covering both onshore and offshore BrownfieldAssets; typical examples include:

• Onshore Pipeline Controls SystemUpgrades
• Offshore Aset enhancement projectscovering multiple system and equipment on large platforms, WellheadTowers and Islands

JobObjective

The safe andeffective delivery of a portfolio of Brownfield Safety CriticalProjects on multiple offshore platforms; including large productioncomplexes (multiple platforms bridge linked) and remote WellheadTowers, located offshore within the UAE under an EPCM contractingmodel.

Typical projects include Fire &Gas System Upgrades, Power Upgrades, Control System Upgrades, FlareSystem Upgrades and Platform StructuralModifications.

Identification and managementof all interfaces both internally within Wood and externally withclient organisation, construction contractor and otherprojects.

Produce and manage InterfaceManagement Plan covering all interfaces for the portfolio ofprojects throughout all phases of the project(s) lifecycle,including Engineering, Procurement, Construction Management,Completions and Commissioning.

Providecertainty and confidence to the client and Wood project sponsorthat the contract is being delivered safely with a strong focus onoptimization, cost control, risk management, schedule adherence andstakeholdermanagement.

Responsibilities

Keyaccountabilities andresponsibilities:

ProjectExecution

• Develop comprehensive InterfaceManagement Plan which addresses contract management levelinterfaces, project portfolio level interfaces and individualproject interfaces.
• Interface ManagementPlan(s) shall cover all internal Wood interfaces covering Design,Procurement, Construction Planning, Construction Execution(management of construction contractor), Mechanical Completions,Pre-commissioning, Commissioning and Handover to Operations as wellas interfaces with other projects outside of the contractscope.
• Establish strong working relationshipswith all Stakeholders to understand their issues / concerns andrequirements, incorporate into the Project Execution Plan andInterface Management Plan.
• Participate in keyproject sessions, including Kick-off Meetings, Design Review,HAZOPS’s, Constructability Review, HSEIA Studies,Constructability Reviews, Construction Method Statements,SIMOP’s, Commissioning Preparation, Handover Planning toensure all interfaces are identified and managedefficiently.
• Engagement with Client Operationsteam to identify shutdown windows which can be used to effectsystem tie-ins to reduce production downtime.
• Participate in development of projectmaster program, including establishment of milestones and phasingto ensure all interfaces are identified, captured and interfaceactions implemented.
• Conducts Regular InterfaceManagement Meeting with all Key Stakeholders and provides feedbackto Project Director, Project Manager(s) andClient.
• Support delivery of engineeringexcellence through coordinating and delivering the engineering forprojects in line with schedule and in accordance with applicableprocedures, specifications, andstandards.
• Ensures accurate and timely deliveryof work and resolves minor delays and changes to the satisfactionof both internal and externalstakeholders.
• Challenge preferentialrequirements during the design and execution phase and work withProject Manager(s) to resolveconflict.
• Identify Key Risk areas early withinthe project and facilitate meetings with required stakeholders toensure alignment and plans are put in place to drive resolution toavoid conflict and delays duringexecution.
• Provide leadership and management toensure safe, cost effective and timely resolution of allinterfaces.
• Enforces the use of ChangeManagement process to identify and approve modifications to scope,cost, schedule, and quality.
• Drives ongoingfocus on risk identification and mitigation during projectexecution.
• Participates in the set-up ofinformation management systems / applications as applicable to suitvarious life phases of projects and manage information managementwithin the project team.

• Guides and supports project team includingexternal specialists and construction contractors, working inmultiple offices and sites.
• Is an advocate androle model for ethical behaviour and compliance with applicablelaws and policies.

Workingrelationships:

• Provides the interface and maintainseffective relationships with other contributors to theproject.
• Interfaces with global executioncentres and supports delivery of scopes from across all officesinvolved.
• Interface and coordinate withOperational and/or Contract Management to ensure delivery ofoperational goals.
  

External

• Establishes and maintains a positiveand effective customer relationship with client Project, OffshoreOperations, Marine Logistics and Asset Planning, and AssetIntegrity teams.
• Establishes and maintains apositive and effective relationship with construction contractorsand vendors to remove conflict and ensure scheduleadherence
  

Level Of Influence AndDecision Making Authority

• Work is performed under generaldirection and is reviewed for conformance with policies and generalefficiency
• Engages with Project Managers fortheir assigned projects and escalates key interfaces and risks tothe Project Director.
• Solves problems requiringan understanding of financial and commercialimplications.
  

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

• B.S. orequivalent degree in Engineering from an accrediteduniversity
• Project Management Professional(PMP), Associate in Project Management (APM) or equivalentcertification is preferred.
  

MinimumExperience

• Minimum of fifteen (15) yearsrelevant experience in major Brownfield oil & gas offshoreprojects.
  

Knowledge, Skills AndExperience

• Experience as part of ContractorManagement Team in EPC and / or EPCM contracts for offshoreBrownfield Oil & Gas projects for major Oil & Gascompanies.
• Experience as part of ContractorManagement Team of managing offshore projects containing marinespreads and materials movement and logistics as part of thescope.
• Specific experience in the Middle Eastfor renowned clients, preferred.
• Demonstrableexperience in stakeholder management, including implementation ofInterface Management Plans and the effective management to achieveproject success.
• Personality, ability, andexperience to successfully identify and manage internal andexternal interfaces to achieve projectobjectives.
• Thorough understanding of projectmanagement techniques and practices.
• High levelof professional competence and management skills to motivate theteam to achieve high quality performance during the execution ofthe portfolio of projects.
• Thorough knowledgeof project success and benefitsmanagement.
• Understands the needs ofinformation management requirements in the project phases(operation), internal (contractual, statutory) and asset (customer)documentation.
• Knowledge of commercial andcontract conditions applicable to the procurement of various typesof goods and services.
• Robust knowledge of allhandover and close-out activities required for customer, companyand suppliers.
