Job Title: Senior Data Product Owner - Treasury & Global Markets
Location: Dubai, UAE
The Data Product Owner role is crucial for the advancement of Data Strategy operationalization and progressing the WB data product roadmap by prioritizing WB requirements that cater to Business, Operations, and Support teams for all Data Domains/Sub-domains related to Corporate, FI, and SME banking customers. This role ensures data consumer adoption of the governed/certified data products landscape and provides the techno-functional and hands-on expertise required for data management and data product implementation. It is placed under respective Data Product Ownership teams under the federated approach, working through a partnership/collaborative model with CoE's Data Strategy & Governance Function and IT teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Data Management
- Strong understanding of Treasury & Global Markets products (e.g., FX, Interest Rates, Commodities, Funding/Investment, Fixed Income, Credit, and Islamic Products).
- Work with the WB and SME business, operations, and support teams, engaging with other teams that consume client data and requirement gathering.
- Data validation for availability and data accuracy.
- Plan the data squad activities and lead the execution strategy.
- Lead a team of data engineers and test engineers to implement the data products.
- Work with the BI team and CRM to enable data consumption for business performance dashboards/alerts across relationships, portfolios, product, and ops teams.
- Forming & Operationalizing Data Domain Working Groups
- Identifying the relevant data consumers for the assigned data domains/sub-domains.
- Conducting working group sessions with data consumers to capture their data needs, maintaining a unified data products backlog with prioritization continuously reviewed and agreed upon.
- Acting as a Data Consumer Representative as needed in other data domain/sub-domain specific working group sessions.
- Data Product Level Functional Specifications
- Converting high-level data requirements from data consumers into detailed functional specifications.
- Maintain in-depth knowledge regarding systems/platforms that provide data and stay updated on ongoing system enhancements/migrations.
- Drive the identification of data gaps and delegate responsibilities to CRM/Systems/BAU core teams to fix relevant data gaps.
- Establish a data quality model and provide the strategic framework to fix data quality issues.
- Data Modeling Functionality Assurance Reviews
- Working closely with the Data Modeling team for data product design based on functional specifications.
- Participating in Data Model design reviews and approving functionality for each data product.
- Data Products Implementation & Ensuring Data Consumer Adoptions
- Collaborating with CoE-Data Strategy & Governance function and IT teams for the implementation of Data Products.
- Ensuring data consumer adoption of the data products landscape, enabling business value and reducing dependency on ungoverned data sources.
- Data Product Life-cycle Management
- Accountable for end-to-end functionality of data products.
- Ensuring consistent Master & Reference data is generated and leveraged wherever applicable.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's/Master's Degree in Information Management, Computer Science & Engineering, or equivalent degree from an accredited institution.
- Expert-level proficiency in Data & Information Management domain and required tools & technologies.
- FRM certification preferred.
- Minimum 7+ years of experience in Data & Information Management and Data Governance domains.
- Minimum 2+ years of experience in managerial responsibilities.
- Demonstrated expertise in working through federated/centralized data strategy & governance models.
- Strong Banking domain knowledge and experience in implementing robust data management solutions.
- Multi-Market Experience Preferred.
- Robust knowledge of data, systems, and analytical tools (e.g., SAS/SQL, R, Python, Pyspark).
- Preferred knowledge in HADOOP, Oracle, PostgreSQL & SAP HANA database technology platforms.
- Preferred knowledge in interacting with Data Governance tools.
- Preferred knowledge in Data Modeling methodologies and tools.
- Preferred – Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) certification from DAMA.
