The Global ProcurementOrganization (GPO) identifies and procures goods and services atthe best value for business maintaining the quality of products andensuring that alternative sources of supply are available. TheSocial Responsibility (SR) and Human Rights program drives customertrust and business continuity by ensuring respect for the rights ofworkers throughout Amazons supply chain and operations. We upholdcompany standards and expectations (such as Amazons Supply ChainStandards and Human Rights Principles) and seek to constantlyimprove the tools and processes that we use in doing so.
As a Project Specialist SR Ops NA you will work under theleadership of the Sr. Project Manager (SR Operations NA/Latam)within the Global Procurement Sustainability (GPS) team closelywith Amazons Social Responsibility team and the Global ProcurementOrganization to implement mechanisms to meet Amazons human rightsprinciples and Supply Chain Standards and to ensure our suppliersare compliant with those.
You will be responsible forAudit risk assessment activities across Global Operations suppliersand remediation plan coordination. You will work closely withinternal and external partners to plan and execute highquality andimpactful audits which address the highest human right risks.
You will insist on the highest standards for your auditsand you will be able to dive deep into every audit area apply broadtechnical knowledge sound business judgment and partner with keystakeholders.

Key job responsibilities

  • Working across GPOcollaborating with external partners (Audit companies) and internalbusiness partners such as Operations WW SR and Sustainability Legaland Risk Management to to identify and assess regulatory and humanrights compliance risks as it relates to our supplierbaseline
  • Reviewing new and existing suppliers(legacy) ensuring that they meet Human Rights compliance safetyterms of service standards investigate suspicious suppliers /driver activity and behaviors that could pose a risk to Amazon ourcustomers or others
  • Driving crossfunctionalassessments of risks and controls to align to company strategy andrisk appetite. Be able to assess the real situation sometimes withlimited information in hand in order to make an independentdecision about the suppliers integrity and compliancestandards
  • Drafting responses to highpriorityand critical issues that arise in partnership with CSR Lead and SRteam
  • Handling daytoday issues (constantlythinking about how to invent and simplify toimprove)
  • Engage with vendors during the AuditProcess reestablishing expectations around their roles andresponsibilities.
  • Define and execute onstandard communication pathways for all vendors and identifyescalation procedures.

  • Masters degree in supplychain business engineering finance or related technical orquantitative field
  • 3 years of driving end toend delivery and communicating results to senior leadershipexperience

  • Experience buildingprocesses project management andschedules
