About the role
We are looking to recruit a new Head of CapitalProjects , to join the Senior Leadership Team of alarge charitable care home group.

In thisnew Senior Leadership Team role as Head of Capital Projects youwill be responsible with your
team for the budget,specification and delivery of major capital projects throughout theexisting
estate.

About You
You will be aqualified a Quantity Surveyor andsupport the training of graduate surveyors. Your
primaryrole will be to lead the team to successfully deliver large capitalprojects working with
procurement and finance colleaguesto ensure these are delivered as efficiently as possible bothin
terms of time and cost and to a high quality with theability to benchmark both quality and cost
externally.Other skills and experience required include:
  • Lead and manage the surveying team in terms of prioritiesand output whilst also providing support and personal developmentopportunities.
  • Work to support our jointventure partners and oversee that the groups dischargesit’s professional responsibilities within the jointventures.
  • Lead progress reviews at allgateways and control points.
  • Assisting withthe development and subsequent monitoring of the specificationreflecting the operational agreed brief and leading the deliveryand execution of the schemes.
  • Attend relevantsite inspections/meetings as required in relation to the contractsto provide leadership through the surveyor’s and managethe tender and contractor selection process.
  • Supported by the finance business partner for propertyyou will monitor individual project progress against budget andprogramme
  • Prepare and monitor bid packagetender schedules and report against the cost plan as required andthe reason for selection of contractors. Liaising with Procurementas required.
  • Prepare contractor bid lists inconjunction with Procurement and obtain approval via the Propertyand Development Director.
  • Monitor and provideas required subcontract schedules and confirm that they are in lineand accordance with the contract documents.
  • Prepare, review and submit the agreed monthly costreports collating information from the surveyors as required to theProperty Development Director/Deputy CEO.
