JobSummary

We are seeking a SrOperations Engineer to join SAMREF Max Chemicals (SMC) Division ofthe LTC Business & Project Development Department toperform optimization of refinery - chemicals integration, selectionof steam cracker and C4+ co-products process licensors ensuringsafety and environmental compliance. This role will drive thedevelopment of project assessment, and the delivery of projectrequirement. This is a refinery residue upgrade integrated withpetrochemical steam cracker complex to be built in Yanbu, westernregion of SaudiArabia.

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluateand screen a range of technology options for defining the BaselineConfiguration.
  • Align the level of detail neededand identify sources for technology input for LP (Long-RangePlanning), operating expenses (opex), and major considerations forfacility scope.
  • Define the Process technologyroadmap and establish a timeline for engagement with technologylicensors/providers.
  • Outline Pre-FEED/FEED(Front End Engineering Design) plans and deliverables related tofacility design basis.
  • Lead the evaluation oftechnology options and oversee the screeningprocess.
  • Review the details and inputs fortechnology options and outputs from the LP model, including processyields, qualities, opex, etc.
  • Provide technicalinputs on the selected technologies and sensitivitycases.
  • Identify opportunities for third-partyinvolvement.
  • Liaise with third-partyvendors/suppliers to obtain necessaryinformation.
  • Support the Government Engagementworkstream and GHG (Greenhouse Gas) Abatement Readiness workstreamby developing technical documents, assessing technology, andevaluating capital efficiency, among othertasks.

Requirements:

  • Thisrole required candidate to permanently relocate at Dhahran, SaudiArabia.
  • Experience 10+ years inmanaging refinery-chemicalsintegration.
  • Hands-on experience in refineryoperations.
  • Expertise in selecting processlicensors and analyzing technologies for steam cracker and C4+co-products processes.
  • Proficiency inunderstanding chemical process yields, qualities, and operatingexpenses (opex).
  • Familiarity with economics andcapital efficiency in the context of chemicalprocesses.
  • Experience in developing the basisfor chemicals facility scope.
  • Involvement incapital project development within the refinery or chemicalssector, particularly in Pre-FEED/FEEDstages.
  • Understanding of molecule optimizationand the integration of synergies inprocesses.
