Roles and responsibilities
  • Specialist Designer inDesign & Detailing of Civil & Structural works ofOil and Gas projects
  • Must have hands-onexperience in Concrete, Structural steel, Underground drainage& Layout drawing preparation for EPC and FEEDprojects
  • Modelling experience in SP3D andexperience in Navisworks / SPR / E3D / PDS / PDMS platform ismust
  • Knowledge in specification and designbasis
  • Ensure that works comply with theAmerican codes and Standards
  • Experience onpreparation of MTO through XL spread sheet will be a pluspoint
  • Be responsible for assessingeffectiveness of working practices and systems with a view tocontinuously improving systems, personal and teamperformance
  • Carry out work in accordance withWood and project Health, Safety, Environmental and QualitySystems
  • Maintain the required technical qualityof work
  • Identify scope and schedule changes inaccordance with the Change ControlProcess
  • Maintain planning on all workscopes
  • Provide technical assistance todiscipline assigned personnel asrequired
  • Ensure, as far as practicallypossible, that all assigned work is carried out in compliance withthe agreed schedule
  • Keep up to date withtechnical developments
  • Review, prepare, checkwork output of discipline assignedpersonnel
  • Prepare estimates and assist in theirreview
  • Maintain good communication with theteam and client
  • Maintain discipline filingsystem
  • Encourage and provide lateral learningwithin the project

Qualifications

  • Minimum Diploma Engineering in civil/ structural or ITI
  • Minimum 9 years postgraduate experience
  • Minimum 6 years’experience in the oil and gas industry
  • Minimum4 years’ experience in thedesignation
  • Modelling experience in SP3D andexperience in Navisworks / SPR / E3D / PDS / PDMS platform ismust

Desiredcandidate profile

  • Advanced DesignSkills: Proficiency in structural design principlesand practices, including knowledge of building codes andstandards.

  • SoftwareProficiency: Expertise in design and analysissoftware (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, SAP2000, ETABS) for creatingdetailed structural drawings andmodels.

  • ProjectManagement: Ability to oversee projects, includingplanning, scheduling, and coordinating with variousstakeholders.

  • StructuralAnalysis: Strong analytical skills to performcalculations and assessments of structural integrity andload-bearingcapacities.

  • Collaboration:Experience working closely with architects, engineers, andcontractors to ensure design feasibility and alignment with projectgoals.

  • Attentionto Detail: Strong focus on accuracy and precision indesign documentation to prevent errors duringconstruction.

  • Problem-Solving:Ability to identify and resolve design challenges, ensuringcompliance with safety standards andregulations.

  • RegulatoryKnowledge: Familiarity with relevant building codes,safety regulations, and industrystandards.

  • Mentorship:Experience in guiding and mentoring junior designers and engineers,fostering professional development within theteam.
