Description of CoreDuties

Productdevelopment:

  • Workactively with the business development teams and liaise with theGroup to price and provide actuarial support for newproducts
  • IndividualLife insurance product pricing from ideation to productlaunch
  • Regularreviewing and monitoring of internal experience and trends toensure company product pricing meets profittargets
  • Repricingmethodologies and bases and, where appropriate, development of newpricing techniques and rating factors in liaison with theGroup
  • Ensureproduct pricing is consistent with the set underwriting policy andregulatoryguidance
  • Provide analysisto support the renegotiation of existing groupcontracts
  • Assistsystem vendors in product setup in the administrationsystem
  • Reviewand monitor experience on all products to inform pricingassumptions and decision-making including profit testing ofexistingproducts
  • Preparereports on product performance for management decisionmaking
  • Workclosely with reassures to ensure treatyoptimization
  • ProductApprovals: Drive the product approval process both within theCompany and externally with the Insurance Regulator and othergovernment bodies where
  • ProductDocumentation: Develop and continually review product trainingmanuals and marketing materials that are appropriate to the targetmarket and distribution channel of the

Valuation:

  • Assistwith new product implementation into the valuation systems andprovide future projections under the valuation standards at thetime
  • Assessthe capital requirements of new products that assists with capitalconsumption and choice of productdesigns


ExperienceInvestigation:

  • Assistwith the annual experience investigations on key assumptions forpricing and
  • Sensitivityanalysis and impact assessment of the variousassumptions

Asset Liability Modeling(ALM):

  • Assistwith the quarterly preparation of ALM calculations andpresentations to management in relation to the new and existingproducts

ActuarialModelling:

  • Buildingand maintaining models for pricing, Value of New Business (VNB),ALM, capital modeling and experienceinvestigations




Requirements











  • Bachelorsdegree in actuarial science, statistics, engineering, mathematicsor any equivalent with a strong emphasis on mathematicalproficiency
  • GoodProgress in the Institute of Actuaries examinations or any otherrecognized Actuarialbodies
  • Atleast 4 years experience in an actuarial function focused onpricing of new products or repricing/ productreview
  • Practicalend to end Product developmentexperience
  • Practicalend to end Prophet modelling experience will be an addedadvantage
