Purpose and Scope: Performmaterial control services to include creating specifications andinventory items creating inventory locations receiving purchaserequests from craftsmen creating POs receiving material issuingmaterial and disposal ofit.

Performs functions associatedwith internal logistics of supply and distribution of materials ona USAFcontract.

EssentialResponsibilities:

  • Establishesa training program to include NexGen training for assignedcontractor personnel. The contractor shall review the trainingprogram every quarter to ensure training is still up to date withno missed deadlines.
  • Ensures materiel iseffectively managed and accounted for in thestores.
  • Coordinates with shops to determinecurrent and future fiscal year purchasing requirements and developsplans to maintain adequate NexGen IT stocklevels.
  • Routinely conduct inventory on existingwarehouse items remove items that areobsolete.
  • Establishes a system to minimizeaccumulation and maximize use of returnedmaterial.
  • Establishes local procedures toprovide material for mission requirements during other than normalduty hours.
  • Ensures procedures used duringNexGen system outage are developed for the requisition and receiptof material.
  • Ensures property accountabilityand audit trails exist for all material transactions regardless ofinventory management system used.
  • Warehousesall BCE materiel and monitors BCE materiel storagerelatedfacilities including proper handling storage and issue of hazardousand flammable material maintained instorage.
  • Assigns warehouse location when newitems are stocked in the stores.
  • Loadsinventory items into the NexGendatabase.
  • Procures receives stocks and issuesmateriel to WTs and Work Groups (WG).
  • CreatePurchase Orders and Purchase Requests inNexGen.
  • Coordinates with flight chiefssuperintendents and shop foreman to provide updates on materialcontrol processes and procedures.
  • Preparesreports and slides and conducts briefings indicating status ofstock levels spend rates availability of supplies and tracking oforders/deliveries.

Ensuresall material is stocked promptly and accurately. Performs item andmonetary accounting and inventory stock control. Computesrequirement determine allowance research and identify supplies andequipment requirements. Performs operations involved in storageinspection identification and receipt of property. Conductsinventories as required. Maintains a clean safe and organizedfacility. Other duties asassigned.

MinimumPosition Knowledge Skills and AbilitiesRequired:

  • REQUIREDQUALIFICATIONS &EXPERIENCE:
    • Must be able toobtain and maintain a SECRET Government Clearance. Note: USCitizenship is required to obtain a SECRETClearance.
    • Knowledge of supply finance stockcontrol warehousing purchasing financial management regulationsrequirements procedures techniques and methods applicable tomaterial acquisition.
    • Strong knowledge ofMicrosoft Office and Excel. Ability to manipulate data use MS Excelmacros and formulas pivot tables and charts perform data analysisand build effective presentations.
    • Knowledge ofcivil engineering workflow job and work order schedulingprocesses.
    • Overall supply and deliveryrequirements as required by Flight needs and NexGen ITcapabilities.
    • Ability to communicateeffectively both orally and inwriting.
    • Knowledge of safety and securityregulations practices and procedures.
    • Licensedin operating a 6K and 10K forklift.
    • Ability togenerate reports as required by management and theCustomer.
    • Experience with working andcommunicating with the Government or militarypersonnel.
  • REQUIREDEDUCATION: A minimum of a high school diploma orequivalent.

PREFERREDQUALIFICATIONS:

  • Knowledgeof Civil Engineerings NexGen IT system Standard Base Supply System(SBSS) DEAMS and data entry processing systems is highlydesired.
  • Experience in functions such as supplypolicies and procedures Air Force property accounting stock andinventory control accountability and responsibility storage methodswarehouse control (receipt issue and disposal) material handlingtechniques methods of preparing and maintaining supply recordsmanual and automated supply accounting systems logistics principlesand interactions (supply maintenance transportation andprocurement).
  • Experience in inventorymanagement a plus.

WorkEnvironment Physical Demands and MentalDemands:Living and working conditions at theassignment location could be remote and uncomfortable. Typicalmilitary supply/warehouse environment with occasional lifting to 50pounds constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communicationconstant mental alertness must possess planning/organizing skillsand must be able to work under deadlines. Must have the ability towork well with others to include the Government andmilitary.
