PURPOSE

TheGroup Fitness & STUDIO Team Lead is responsible forcreating an "UPLIFT" VASA experience by offeringan inclusive, accessible, and on-trend fitness experiencemaximizing STUDIO and Group Fitness usage.

Youwill be responsible for ensuring STUDIO and Group FitnessKPI's are achieved from growing active STUDIOmemberships/class counts as well as growing Group Fitnessusage.

The GFSTL will build and maintain classschedules that are competitive, on-trend, and convenient formembers while adhering to the VASA scheduling standards. The GFSTLwill ensure members and guests receive an exceptional experiencethrough high energy classes that motivate, UPLIFT, and createcommunity.

DELIVERABLES

  • Recruiting and Staffing: Recruitstalent to ensure schedules are staffed with the right instructorsand coaches for the right times to drive club traffic and memberengagement. The GFSTL actively recruits and acquires talent viaVASA employees, VASA members, and local community members. They areresponsible for recruiting top talent to fill all product trainingsand new program offerings.
  • Achieving Results,Maximizing STUDIO/Group Fitness Usage: Works with the GM to analyzethe business and performance of the STUDIO/TEAM and Group Fitnessspaces. The GFSTL drives performance that results in all financialtargets and KPI's being achieved, or ideally,exceeded.
  • The GFSTL drivesSTUDIO and Group Fitness attendance through the management of classcounts, coaching instructors on how to drive attendance, workingwith the other team leads to provide product education to ensurethat members are being directed to the appropriate classes, andattending classes for the purpose of evaluation andguidance.
  • Evaluates club schedules,local/national trends, and club traffic to ensure class schedulesare competitive, on-trend, and convenient for members. Schedulesare reviewed and adjusted quarterly to accommodate seasonality andattendance fluctuation. Proactively identifiesinstructor/scheduling problems and provides ideas and solutions tohelp move the business forward. They also manage operating costs bycontrolling labor and equipment expense without compromising themember experience.
  • Deliver A World-Class MemberExperience. The GFSTL ensures all equipment and technology isreported for repair as quickly as possible; the STUDIO space andGroup Fitness rooms are clean and safe, and all playbooks, VASAinitiatives, marketing events, and programming are executedflawlessly. Through continuous training, mentoring,cross-departmental communication, and follow-up with instructorsand other team leads, the GFSTL ensures that programming is beingdelivered that matches the standards of all playbooks and SOPs.They are aware of challenges and work quickly to resolvethem.
  • Trains, Coaches and Supports OngoingInstructor Development: Leads by example, demonstrates enthusiasmfor VASA's core values. Builds trust and strongrelationships with all Team Members. Conducts instructorevaluations by physically attending and participating in classes.Delivers feedback and coaching that inspires commitment andcontinued development. Conducts quarterly STUDIO RED trainings inaddition to regularly teaching on the schedule to lead by exampleand highlight the important aspects of teaching a safe andeffective class. Strives to keep and develop a bench of talentedSTUDIO/TEAM Coaches and Group Fitness Instructors. Facilitatespractice sessions that allow instructors and coaches to continue torefine and expand their skill sets and receive in the momentfeedback.
  • Delivers Care and Creates Connection:Ensure members and guests receive an exceptional experience throughhigh energy classes that motivate, UPLIFT, and create community.Works with GM to ensure member and guest concerns regarding theseprograms are being addressed. Approachable, professional, engaging,and provides excellent customer service by promptly responding tomember needs and concerns.
